If this was 2015 I'm impressed with how good Honkey Tonk man looks. Time has been good to him. Also was impressed with how honest and gracious he was in his recollections of Randy and the Hulk. There was something special about growing up in the 80s and watching wrestling. Man those guys really take me back.

I saw him AFTER this interview at a local show. He wasn’t like…In his prime but he put on a decent show. He had just left a con where hacksaw was the day before and he started shooting on him. He came off the second rope with his leg drop even. Pretty nice afternoon over all. Glad I got to meet him.

When you look at mic skills and in ring skills, I find it hard to put anyone above the macho man. Great athlete and charisma for days. I dont agree with his possessive treatment of Liz but that's a separate issue. His promos always made me laugh my ass off. He was SO intense and funny at the same time. And the interaction with him and mean Gene was priceless. I haven't watched wrestling in decades. I started watching as a kid with my grandmother who thought it was real. Bruno was the champ back then and Vince's father was running the show. Really miss the heyday in the 80's and 90's, WWE and WCW...even ECW.

@SpScarletSpider
@SpScarletSpider 3 жыл бұрын
@@shanewilson8728 The Randy Savage/Stephanie McMahon thing never happened. Savage and Vince McMahon had differing beliefs over his career (with Savage wanting to keep wrestling and Vince wanting Savage on commentary), and McMahon was also upset that Savage took the Slim Jim deal along to WCW. The Steph/Savage rumor started because people decided to come up with a reason as to why Vince refused to mention Randy's name at all. They seem to have reconciled at some point however, because before his death, Randy did a promo promoting the WWE All-Stars game. Chances are Vince and Randy were negotiating a Hall of Fame/Legends deal, as that game was the first time in years that Randy Savage was in a WWE game.

I think most people and wrestlers agree that Hogan was a horrible wrestler. His matches usually all went the same way. What Hogan did do well was present himself as this bigger than life persona. Macho Man was a waaayyyyy better wrestler than Hogan. That’s why there’s really such resentment towards Hogan from other wrestlers. I remember being a kid and reading that wrestling Mag I think it was Wrestling illustrated or something Nd they’d do these what if Hogan wrestled Flair and Flair would always be the winner and as a Kid I’d wonder why, but as I got older I understood, Flair was a way better wrestler.

+Abolisher1 Most wrestlers, especially those competing back then had a limited repertoire in th ring. While they may had a huge skill set in real life, they had to limit it to make the matches workable. Even Bret Hart, a guy is is arguable one of the best technicians had matches that were pretty predictale. A clothes line, back breaker, Russian leg sweep, elbow off the second rope.

HTM is the consummate pro heel. He had two jobs , get the people to hate him and get the baby face over. I was always afraid some nut would kill a heel. Only after watching these shoot interviews did I realize these guys had to fight their way out after a heated match. He admits he was more show business than wrestling but he and guys like him knew their job. He also understood how temporary a stay in a territory could be.

If Randy is somewhere watching the HOF, it's not going to be a good night for him...for one I believe he wanted his dad and Lanny inducted with him bcuz that's how Randy was in life, he looked after his little brother and family. Just like I do and always will, as an older brother I understand where he was coming from. 2nd I know he hated Hulk Hogan, any of you doubt that look for a 3 min shoot Randy did on HH on youtube, he explains it all , like the Ultimate said in his shoot on Hogan..Hulk was a 2 face back stabbing piece of shit! Hulk Hogan wasn't the great American Hero he was advertised, he was a lying, jealous, steroid and cocaine using sex maniac who tried to keep many other of the boys down For Vince to have HH induct Randy is his way of having the last laugh on Randy one last time, why do you think Koko b Ware and Lita and others were in the HOF before Randy, they were good BUT they were NO Macho Man who made Vince Tens of Millions for years! Vince was pissed off when Randy Bolted on him without notice and took the Slim Jim account with him to WCW, he insulted MM by calling him old and Randy knew Vince put the boys out to pasture when he felt they were no longer valuable to him, but Savage had the multimillion dollar SJ account in his back pocket, and that is what pissed off Vindictive Vince, Money is Vince's MASTER he just couldn't ignore the fans anymore who started yelling for Randy to be put in the HOF at RAW taping's! RIP Mach Man you were one of the greatest, no one ill ever be able to take that away, one of kind forever!

Ham On Rye + Red Wine Randy hated Hogan until the end according to Lanny and did say that he wanted all 3 inducted in the HOF at once also confirmed by Lanny with us but Lanny and the mother were probably paid a large sum of money to allow it to go through without protest.

You are the biggest as whole I have seen yet and everything you said was bullhorn. Machoman was worth 20 Terry Hollywood hulk bellias. Randy was a better performance by 1000 fold. Hogan was a hack built by McMan.

I loved Randy Savage as a wrestler ... I stress as a wrestler. His locking Elizabeth in locker rooms while he wrestled made me sick. It's no surprise she ended up leaving him.

Sami Lynn I understand where your coming from, but you have to understand that the locker room was filled with these huge 300 pound men, who some of them were sex maniacs. I can understand why Randy did what he did, though it doesn't mean what he did was right.
