The business needs more people like Lou Thesz, to weed out the ones who don't belong in the business.

+NathanArnoldCharging No one in pro wrestling. That "cream" left and joined up with another sport. Called MMA.

Wrestling Historian Bernkastel You realize not every professional wrestler, joins MMA, don't you?! Bradshaw & Faarooq never joined MMA - yet, they weeded out the weak ones. Bob Holly's never joined up with MMA - yet, he weeds out the weak ones. Pro wrestling isn't ballet, as much as you'd like it to be.

Lou Thesz His run from 1949-1955 cemented the National Wrestling Alliance as the powerhouse in wrestling. Thesz also unified the National Wrestling Alliance title with the World Heavyweight Championship (National Wrestling Association).

I know Hiro Matsuda. He used to have a wrestling school in Tampa right close to the Brisco Brothers body shop. That's who Hulk Hogan trained for. That had to have been in the late 70's.

Jeez I know they said Lou was a legit "hooker" (as in a wrestler who would lock in shoot holds when the whim suited him) and just the stories HTM shares are scary.

From an interview I watched I got the feeling that Thez was a Wrestlers Wrestler who was trained to legit Wrestle. And trained strict and rough by some rough trainers in a rough time. From everything I've heard it sounds to me like he resented people that couldn't actually Wrestle. And he worked alot during a time when you had to worry about a double cross in the Ring. I guess some of those real oldtimers were pretty rough at times.Weird to me how rough some of them could be. But I guess things were different back then.

Lou was a bad ass...I wonder if he went in the dungeon with Bret Harts Daddy. He and Lou were borh in the teens and in the same business.

Don't know, but Lou stated although Stu had some wrestling ability he wasn't quite as good on the mat as his "dungeon" rep would lead people to believe. Jack Brisco said Stu was good at showing you holds as long you let him put them on you. Lou, Brisco, Danny Hodge, Karl Gotch and Billy Robinson were all a league above Stu.

Anthony Danes I never saw Hodge or Theze. I first saw "Rasslin" on Oahu TV in Hawaii...Dad was stationed there as a USAF pilot. my brothers and I would see the "same" wrestlers we saw on KGMB channel 9 on the beaches in Honolulu...and another "mark" was born! I'm very respectful of other generational wrestlers so history a big deal at least to me. I will always wipe my feet before entering the hallowed Squared Circle! Cheers my man!

Yeah, something like that . . . I remember when Muhammad Ali passed away (who, of course, was from Louisville), I could always tell whether a news commentator was from the South or not, simply by the way he or she pronounced the name of that town!
