Best liner wing tutorial for hooded eyes EVER. So simple. It doesn't have to be hard or weird. THANK YOU! Peace.
@waymire018 жыл бұрын
I gave up on winged liner a long time ago. My crease extends past the edge of my eye.. and it just looks weird no matter what I do. It's much more flattering to wing your shadow, blending it into the crease and outer corner of the eye. Camouflages the crease issue and looks great with your eyes open or closed. Liner on the upper lid takes away what little lid I have and makes my eye look even smaller. Tightlining is much better.
@MasinaTai868 жыл бұрын
i do that!!!! i have the same situation.. I've not much mobile lid space and one of my eyes is particularly droopy .. I've tried doing winged liner many times.. i can do it on one eye but not on the other so i make them both horizontal.. or very few times I've managed to make it a bit Hepburn/breakfast at tiffanys-esque if that makes sense n that's really flattering but rarely happens.. OR embrace what Koreans are doing and embrace the downturned look.. They don't flick liner up but draw it downwards to create doll sort of look... plus straight full natural looking brows, light glowy skin.. and ..i don't like how they do the lips (pale lips with a bit of color inside the lips.. looks like a stain, only inside).. but everything else is very youthful and pretty
@MasinaTai868 жыл бұрын
mostly i do what you do i mean.. but when i do line my eyes i do what i mentioned previously
@waymire018 жыл бұрын
I learned a ton about how to deal with my hooded eyes.. before it was a "thing" everyone talked about.. by watching Asian eye tutorials. I have a similar overall shape, mostly downturned.. and small eyes in general. Obviously not everything worked or was appropriate for me personally, but I learned a lot about contouring the eye and it was a lot of fun playing with the different techniques. Another way I found to wear liquid liner is to do a thin line at the lashes and then a wedge on the outer edge of the lid.. staying out of the crease. I don't wear it often because it makes my eyes smaller horizontally than winging out the shadow.. but if I want that "basically naked eye with liner on top" look it works.

One of the most important things I can do for my eyes is use a shadow that is about 2 shades darker than my skin & placing it above my actual crease. This makes my upper lid space not appear so large, puffy & hooded. The area between the crease & brow is quite spacious - similar to an Asians upper lid space (except I don't have a mono lid). I can recreate my own crease making my entire eye shape slightly different - not necessarily doing a cut crease, but making it look more like I have less upper lid space. Using a darker shade on the upper lid is what proportions my eyes so they look overall complimentary.

I have asian eyes and for me, the hood is quite prominent and the line of the fold goes quite low so it's near impossible to make a wing following the angle of the lower lash line. It's hard to explain but the angle of my wing is downwards so it won't be cut by the fold and I use some brown or a touch of black eyeshadow on the outer corner of of my lower lash line. An easier way to describe it is puppy eyes makeup.
@svetlanas278 жыл бұрын
Same for me - any eyeliner is covered completely by the fold! Eyeliner is seen on my eyes only if I do my make up like Amy Winehouse!
@mishaslilbae8288 жыл бұрын
What I usually do is only lining the water line, then extending the eyeliner to your skin only from the water line.
@joyin98527 жыл бұрын
Svetlana S i always tight line with black on my upper waterline and then i tight line again with either brown or white to make my eyes look bigger on my bottom waterline. Because eyeliner hates me and my eyes are so hooded it's impossible for me - especially since i normally wear glasses so when i have to take them off to do eye makeup eyeliner technique goes out the fucking window XD
@eyezwideopen6 жыл бұрын

I have a different technic that works for my hooded eyes. Every time I get complements on my makeup when I line my eyes. I draw my line starting lower than my waterline and make it go up. Just like a bow. I elongate the eye (and the upper lashes) and it looks slightly bigger. I don't draw on my "hood" because in my case it us very puffy and it looks ridiculous.
@vermillion368 жыл бұрын
I might try that, thank you. :)
@Wredniara8 жыл бұрын
I looked on my eyes very carefully and I discovered ;) that my upper lashline is wider than my lowerlashline. It's because of the "hood". That's why I can't use the technic showed in this video. The "line" would be wavy and would cut my crease (it is wider then my waterline). I must first line my lashes, and then go up creating a "bow". My eyeliner is also thiner (a true line). I hope it is a better describing of what I do :) And I don't say that this technic in video is wrong, it just don't work with my "hoods" ;P
@MyMyMy697 жыл бұрын
Wredniara i have same problem- you should make a video?
@TammiBloo7 жыл бұрын
Wredniara Oooh I know what you mean. I do that sometimes and it makes a great elegant "cat eye" type wing liner! My single qualm is that for some reason I feel like it looks odd at certain angles on my eye just from personal preference, like almost *too* curved upwards. (I spent an hour trying different techniques and talking selfies from all angles lol.) I've always desperately wanted to do a more 60's pinup "flick" wing liner like here tho, so I hope it works with my eyes.
