I love that this game has somehow managed to take already existing mechanics in Pokemon and make better use of them than even Pokemon themselves have. Like PP, ethers and elixers. Almost useless in official Pokemon games, but much more useful in this game

I think some great rules would be 1. No reviver seeds 2. Only be able to bring one Pokemon with passives. 3. Only three Pokemon at the start. Pretty much the rules you have on your mono generation runs.

I think a decent first step is to restrict yourself to starter Pokemon with an initial cost of 3 or less. It's not as incremental as it looks - it eliminates Tinkatink from the starter lineup. If you were to combine that with a "only first Pokemon per floor" rule, getting your hands on a Steel/Fairy type would require specific routing and at least decent luck, if you don't manage to stumble your way into it with DNA Splicers. I'm sure there are other little customizations that can be added, like "no shiny starters" and the like.

I think you should make it where you have to catch a pokemon every 10 floors and no passive abilities. If you want it even harder you could try no healing items but i don't know if that's possible. Loved the video and can't wait to catch you live

Personally I'd ban shinies as starters. They give such an advantage that it cant be over stated. Random encounter shinies are fine, but guaranteeing luck early is kinda busted

One way to make it harder is definitely to use pokemon that aren't shiny or have any unlocked abilities and one more difficulty spike could be that you are only allowed to heal before and after every major battle

I've been using sort-of Pseudo-Locke rules for my runs. One of the rules I use makes it so you can't catch anybody new if your party is already full.

Yoooo one thing I'm doing to make the nuzlocke a fair bit harder, is by doing it on a completely fresh account and building that account from 0. Just so it feels like I'm doing the nuzlocke starting from the origin of the game. Each attempt I have more and more options. I've yet to win (my pb is 150, 2x), but I've enjoyed playing it a lot.

1 Mon per Biome after you get a full party limiting the stat boost items like Vitamins to 1 stack per mon (so only protein on one, and only carbos on another) Maybe play a Soul Link with another poketuber, so your mons are linked

Randomly pick only one starter. It's a nuzlocke, so you can go and pick one if you choose to be a little more pure to the game mode. If you do pick, go in the spirit of the games and pick an actual starter mon that you'd normally get in a game's early choice.

I think you're sleeping on Fearow - with moxie, tidy up, floaty fall, and extreme speed - he can sweep through a lot of (but not quite all) the rival fights, gym leaders, and elite four. I picked him up for luck on the day he had pokerus, and he promoted himself to my primary carry pretty quickly.

Just lost my best run at 195 because ivy's bruxish 1 shot my garganacl from basically full hp and he had +10% def item. He could have taken the rest of the team solo as stealth rocks were up, gutted. Although I decided to make pokerogue harder for myself for no reason by deciding to use only gen 5 starters and serperior is very poor and samurott not much better, rock head emboar carries though
