It took me a very long time to really understand what Hook was saying when he says "if it can be broken, it means it still works." But I think what he's saying is that some part of him was worried that Emma was completely walled off and could never love any man let alone him. Even though it hurt him that Emma was dating someone else, it also gave him hope that she was capable of loving someone and loving them long term (with the whole marriage thing). And therefore could potentially love him the way that he loves her.

Emma is such an annoying character that season.. just japping about fleeing back to new york, just thinking of herself, insulting hook, poor guy who have done so much for her and she doesn't see it until the very last episode. Maybe there has to be a character like this to play the pessimist in any show about good and evil but she is extremely bitter about it.

everyone in here are just saying Emma broke his heart and blah blah blah!you people really want something to be rushed and forced?they have chemistry!I won't deny that!but in season 3A they totally ruined that great chemistry with a sudden and completely unneeded kiss by these two!while Emma was still thinking about Neal and she still is during this scene!so kissing in here would ruin the story again!Emma should accept and completely move on from Neal and make things perfectly clear that even she likes to be in a romantic relationship or not!walking away from Hook actually saved the story because other wise I would completely see that how much fanservice it is!
