You can also get the hidden gem by climbing up high on the swinging rope and jumping back towards the gem. I'm glad because I killed those little seahorses and couldn't jump high enough without them.

Heya! It depends on the level. There's one later in the game called Crash Landed that took me 8 hours to get down perfectly. But then there's others than I can do on the first try. I grew up playing the first 3 Crash games on PlayStation, so I immediately felt familiar with this one.
