Hello Steph, the Fritillaria is a native plant in areas round my town (Zwolle). It's the only place in Holland were they grow in large meadows. It is also called "Zwols Carnation". In spring it is lovely. They like a damp environment

I’ve used the cardboard method for years and it is the best idea, I even use little piece to cover up any small out breaks of weeds. I love the new bed and the edging 🇦🇺cheers Bronwyn

Hi Brownwyn, Yes absolutely it works great!! I keep all cardboard and newspaper now for use in the garden. I add newspaper under fresh mulch as well. Cheers!!

Thanks for showing the giant snowflake bulb in your hand. They do look like a daffodil bulb. Larger than I expected. Try drying the ageratum flower heads for potpourri. 😊

How fun! Do the ageratum have a fragrance?
@sandrakay85402 жыл бұрын
No fragrance. Do you grow a variety with fragrance? It does keep it's beautiful color.

I found in my garden store and bought Fritillaria Uva, which is much tinier but dark burgundy with edge in yellow. You need to be paying attention to see it, but it is really neat. I will put in my planter

I ordered Fritillaria meleagris and Leucojum for the 1st time this year too! So excited to see them come up next year. I've not tried Camassia but it also looks amazing...will have to add those next year and enjoy them in your garden from afar until then 😊

I have the snow drops that are blooming now with my daffodils.

How fun! I will have to add some traditional snow drops next fall so that I can have earlier blooming ones also. There's are the giants and bloom later.

So excited to see how these bulbs do for you. I have always wanted to plant fritllaria because of the checkerboard design. Can't wait to see yours in bloom.

This is too weird! I ordered 600 bulbs 4 weeks ago from them and they are huge. The shipping box was printed on the outside with beautiful tulips 🌷. Great gardening minds! 😊

I read on one bulb vendor's website that fritillary bulbs are supposed to be planted on their sides. Have you ever read that or heard that?
@HookedandRooted2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I haven't heard that. Very interesting! I planted them how I normally do. Fingers crossed they work out. Thanks for watching.
