Thanks for your contribution! 🙏🏼
@scottptolomey34982 ай бұрын
Not strictly true about the Trimm Star being the low profile partner Trimm Trab (Fit Trot) replaced the Trimm Star in 1975. Part of the German initiated ‘Trimm Dich’ health campaign due to the rise in heart related problems and statistics showed an increase in other major health factors. The campaign was launched in 1970 this included recreational areas having more park facilities to exercise. Adidas being a German company got behind the Trimm Dich campaign by introducing a specific style of shoe for ease,comfort and overall stability. This included the ‘Ghily’lacing system with the introduction of the Trimm Master in 1970 a nylon based training shoe followed by Trimm Star (1972). T.Master replaced the original Trimm Master in 1973 whilst in Austria other variants such as the Tramp and Walker were introduced as well as Monte Carlo and Holiday. Trimm Trab were introduced in 1975 when Adidas employed Bayer AG to manufacture a specific sole made of Polyurethane moulds to allow the shoe to ‘breathe’known as the Bayerflex system.replacing both the Trimm Star and T.Master. Although popular in its native Germany it didn’t take off in mainland Europe and the campaign effectively ended circa 1980. Had Wade Smith in Liverpool not imported this shoe in the very early 80s it wouldn’t have been popular in the UK that’s why it was favoured by Scousers affectionately calling them ‘Trabs’
