Yes! Thank you. I loved track day with the boys. I could have watched hours of this because it's so good and reminds me of my good old days where I had something decent to drive and could go somewhere and do it. Now I can only daydream. This video really gave me a warm and cozy feeling. Wish I could have been there and ride along or even just watch. These guys have been like family to me for so long. There's a very good reason you don't see any s2000 drift cars, low torque + multilink suspension = hard to drift. But as a circuit car, they are top tier!

Y'all gotta be careful on the track with the new BRZ/86. Oil starvation on right turns can blow your engine. But I'm sure everybody's heard of it at this point. It's not the RTV by the way, it's sloshing of the oil. 900BRZ has done a LOT of instrumented testing on this sorta stuff if you're interested!

@@christopheredwardnaidoo4150 The only way to prevent the oil sloshing around is a baffle and they don't make functional ones for the GR86 yet. Again, 900BRZ posts instrumented data and tests baffles on his own track car. It's not just RTV, it's something worse.

Having driven these cars many times in the canyons and on track (22 BRZ and AP2), they are both amazing especially lightly modded. My preference is BRZ though for the engine and handling characteristics. The S2000 is a bit more exciting due to the engine noise and lack of insulation, but the torque of the FA24 and the balanced/forgiving chassis of the BRZ win me over every time. Its just so good for mixed street/track/canyon use.

​@@pswmetalmonkey​I havent driven one b2b with a 2nd gen BRZ so I cant really say. I do know someone dyno'd an e85 K24 BRZ with I/H vs e85 FA24 BRZ with H, and the FA24 made 16 more whp on the same dyno (214 whp vs 230 whp).

The BRZ is the better "car". It has more compromises to make it more comfortable than the AP2 S2K... The S2K is the better "sports car". Even in the AP2 trim (which is more refined than the AP1) it is still more raw than most other cars out there and was always intended to be a pure drivers car from the ground up. S2K all day.

Not a fan of the triplets tbh, not a bad look but for subi to run a NA engine in it is weird for me cuz the glory days always had a turbskie and from what ive seen the brz with a turbo is way better. Maybe well see future versions with turbos who knows

The suspension setup on the BRZ is terrilbe. Those cars do not like being that low, especially in the rear. It needs about half an inch up in the front and at least a full inch in the rear if not more for them to handle well.

S2k and BRZ are much different in how you use them at their best. I like to think of the BRZ as a good chef's knife. Whereas the S2k likes to move more like a filet knife. Both are sharp and give a lot of confidence, but the filet knife is a bit more ready to show you your own lack of skill.

Thats not a bad analogy but I think thats actually a fault of the 2Sk not a highlight. Its much more prone to bite you in the ass for no good reason not just because the driver wasn't good enough. There is a point at which that is simply an inferior handling car vs something that still requires high skill to push to the limit but won't just snap around due to the tiniest mistake.

​​@@Bones12x2So would you say a F1 car is inferior in handling compared to Grandma's Buick because it's harder to drive?(not that the BRZ/S2000 handle anywhere near THAT level of difference, just an extreme example 😅) Responsiveness vs stability(or ease of driving) is the tradeoff, and different drivers have the right to value each differently. But in my experience, the S2000 never bites for no reason. It's always due to a driver input. Personally I like both cars, they both handle great just very differently!

If a buick could set the same lap time or even possibly better than an F1 while being more predictable and controllable without sacrificing driving feel and fun....then yes... It would objectively be a better handling car. I love S2ks. But Ive driven both in tracks and the gen2 BRZ/86 is every bit as capable, is just as fun to drive, and is less likely to send you into the grass/wall..... So its by definition a better handling car.
