As a mostly self taught welder, I personally find aluminium really fun to weld, not always the easiest, but if you prep right it goes well. Still need to get my welds looking good as well as functional though... but as they say, grinder and paint, makes me the welder I ain't ;)

As long as u can practice it, get a feel for the melt, youll be good. Learned aluminum and steel at the same time, wasnt a nightmare at all just paid attention.

The problem mostly is that it is cast Al, cast metals are all pretty bad at getting welded. Cause they use weird alloys to make the casting part easier and cheaper.
