Kobe Bryant needs to be the logo of the NBA. That man is the epitome of everything the NBA should be. He is the one player in NBA history more than others, that could honestly say he couldn't have done any more. He got 100% of everything he was gifted with and used it to the maximum. He left absolutely nothing on the court. This is a man so driven that he went hard until his body literally quit, and then made the free throws.

This is the kind of stuff that impresses me the most. Jordan was great, probably the greatest, but Jordan had genetic gifts that Kobe could only dream of. Gigantic hands, insane jumping ability, freak speed, incredible gas tank... Kobe had small hands and his vertical leap was 38". Other than being reasonably tall, Kobe didn't get any of the genetic gifts, so what he accomplished on the court he accomplished with fortitude, belief and *HARD* work.

If Shaq had been on board to maintain a healthy playing weight and match Kobe's thirst to get better at each aspect of his game, between Shaq, Kobe and coach Phil Jackson, they would have won at least another 2-3 more rings together. Kobe had a maturity level that only the likes of Michael Jordan would understand and appreciate. Shaq allowed his massive ego, lack of disciple and unwillingness to improve after the 2002-2003 season. Three peat was nice, though a four peat could have been achieved.

It’s not his talent or drive it’s the emotions within him that push yourself to take action I say this as someone cut from the same cloth I grew up watching Kobe I remember the trade & knew something was special was coming !!! I absorbed so much of his essence I played with fire grit determination & when injuries happen in life I move through it & show the black mamba gratitude!!! I broke my ankle on a job moving people homes & took a job mid day & just 10 min after committing to the move I broke my ankle coming down the ramp unloading a couch well after moments of taking in what happened my work partner finishes up & says well I guess we’re done for the day I took that & felt overwhelmed with emotions that wouldn’t allow me to not show up to the job so we headed over & I said nothing to the owner & just started to hobble up the stairs to start the load I was pushing hard & keeping a good pace about 30 min in I apologized for my limping explaining I broke it just min after I accepted the job he was impressed that I decided to work anyways as he played defensive lineman for the raiders in the late 90s 2000s under al Davis so I he understood what it’s like haha so move is going well considering my ankle & about 1:30 min into the load up my ankle popped & I regained full movements in my ankle along with no pain & was looking forward to unloading & being done as this was 9 hours into the work day & my ankle is broke so we finished unloading head back to our vehicles & as soon as I tried to walk it was unbearable & took 28 days to heal was racing my bike 32 days after the break moral of this is find something to identify with inside yourself where the pain of quitting the lasting emotions & thoughts hurt more in every way than the small amount of time possibly experiencing physical pain !!!!!!! Doctor x rays confirmed a break Thank you Kobe Bryant ❤️

Niggas can say what they want, there's no greater player than Kobe. He's been an inspiration since he came into the league when I was 10. His name, his legacy will never be forgotten 🖤💯 #LLKobe👑

When I was a teen, I would play basketball every single day with my neighbors Andrew, Donny and Tyler, 1 game, 100 points by 1's and 2's. Then after those games, Andrew's Dad would not let him come inside until he made 50 freethrows, 50 lay ups, and 50 3's. Even as a kid, I always thought his Dad was borderline abusive in that regard because no matter how tired he was, he HAD to do it, but Andrew was an absolute menace on the court. One of the best ball players I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. Then I watch this and see that Kobe wanted to make 800 for conditioning and I realize how Andrew was meant for greatness. Andrew died in a car accident before he ever made it to college. This is just a random internet comment to keep his name alive but every time I see anything involving an insane work ethic, I think of Andrew. Thank you Andrew and thank you Kobe for the inspiration. RIP

I already know all these stories about Kobe, feeling that everything that Kobe didn't realize before is only coming out now. How long does a person have to die to appreciate what was done? it's very disappointing but I'm happy that people know more about the accomplishments of life and don't get to know them before they get to know them well, kobe is the personified goat in basketball like no other

Kobe's incredible, but the rim story is just normal, ballers have a feel for when the rim is a different height, the more you ball, the more accurate that feel gets

I remember Kobe Bryant had got hurt so many times an still played with a broken finger 🤞 and his shoulder an had the flu 🤧 the sports team guy asked Kobe Bryant how is your finger he said it still hurts but he said I can't tell because he was shooting like it wasn't broken an when he put up 60 points they asked him how are you feeling he said I'm glad that it's over because he wasn't feeling well because he had the flu but nobody knew he played like he was not sick. Any body else would stayed home 🏠.

So, I've been claiming that the nba snuck smaller rims into the playoffs; but now that you mention it, maybe they only raised our lowered it slightly! I mean, how many good-great shooters are building brick backboards..... ALL OVER THE LEAGUE!

that basket rim was definitely a paid actor, but all jokes aside its insane how he knew that it was off by a bit. honestly, that can be a crucial detail in basketball and sports in general. as a skateboarder, we get injuries frequently. basically trying to kill ourselves just to land a trick. we'd have bruised up shins, ankles, sore butts from falling down, back, scraped knees, hands bled. but we'd still get back up minutes after to land the trick. depending on how bad and serious the injury may be. but most of the time, we'd walk it off or hold on to that injury for a few minutes then its back to killing ourselves for our trick

Gerald Henderson wrote the article for The Players Tribune. Here's the last part of the article: After the buzzer sounded, I was walking off the court and I saw one of the maintenance guys - one of the guys who was carrying the ladder onto the court during warm-ups. I had to ask. “Hey man, what was up with the rim before the game?” “Oh, someone notified us that it was a little lower than regulation.” He added: “Don’t worry. We adjusted it to 10 feet.” Then he told me how much it was off by. I could tell you his answer, but I think you already know what he said.

I tore 3 out of 4 ligaments in my left knee. My ACL, MCL, and LCL. I was backcountry snow skiing when I hyperextended my knee skiing through trees in deep snow. Due to the inflammation in my left knee, I had to wait 12 weeks letting my MCL and LCL to heal before having ACL surgery. 8 months and 3 weeks after ACL surgery, I was once again in the backcountry snow skiing. Oh and by the way, I was 49 yrs old when I blew out my knee. I’m 55 now and still skiing the backcountry. I guess I’m not human either.
