Karma is so real bro. Look at Bucks now. If they come back next season and they’re still getting cooked by bad teams. This Dame thing won’t work! Giannis is going to get rid of Middleton and Brook. Let’s see who they pick up though. Dame got exposed in the East, it’s way more gritty and defensive. Can’t just run around chucking shots!

It's a bit premature, but their D might even be better than the unit of death on the best Warrior teams. KP gives that final element of a rim protector that doesn't foul very often. Golden State never really had that, they were just an excellent group of defenders. Boston can run anyone off the 3 point line(or get a good contest) and funnel them into their waiting trap. Layers upon layers, and then good luck getting a rebound. Three more like game 1 and they will enter elite status moving forward...

True, this is the way to defend against the Mavs specifically, it shuts down their 'heliocentric' offense. I get OKC because of how young they are, their center was pretty much a rookie, even though honestly it was boards that lost that series and it was a crime they didn't trade for a big with all the assets they have, but Minnesota just failed, so many lobs and shots at the rim.

Question, should mavs just stay home and let Tatum go 1 on 1 because helping 24/7 and giving up 3’s open never made sense to me, if people hit contested 2’s hats off but open 3’s hurt wayy more
@pacdaman155575 ай бұрын
If the Mavs let Tatum go 1 on 1 he is going to put up a lot of points while still being in the flow of the offense. It's a pick your poison situation. There is effectively no defender on the Mavs that is going to stop him 1 on 1 and if your priority is containing the 3, Lively/Gafford have to hug KP or Horford on the perimeter and the Cs put a guard in the strong side dunkers spot leaving an easy drop off pass OR the Cs create a 2 on 1 in the paint and force the Mavs defense into rotation anyway. Option select minimizing the damage is contain Tatum with a double early and force everyone else to beat you but Brown is also elite, Jrue and White are solid shooters and can attack a close out, and match-up wise Horford and KP can make mince meat of Lively and Gafford on a close out attack or just line up easy shots. The Cs are 8 players deep that can shoot at elite rates, attack close outs, and pass out of penetration to push advantages.
@TheRobversion15 ай бұрын
I'd say yes. Time to think of the celtics more like the warriors than the harden rockets. You give up the 2s and try to avoid giving up 3s. Tatum is at his best not when hes an alpha scorer but in this do it all forward mode ala draymond green or grant hill. Thats why kidd is playing mind games with tatum. He wants to bait tatum to be a scorer.
@randylahey82075 ай бұрын
@@TheRobversion1yeah well, it ain't gonna work. Tatum is not the same player he was a couple years ago. He plays much more in flow, and is surrounded by capable veterans he can rely on to make the right play no matter what. If anything, Kidd's move reeks of early desperation. He can see his team is outmatched, and no amount of gamesmanship is going to change that. 16 points, six turnovers... And Boston was up 25 when the starters got pulled. Wake me when Dallas actually plays a close game against the Celtics. Hasn't happened yet this year...
@TheRobversion15 ай бұрын
@@randylahey8207 agreed. I can see dallas playing better but the celtics also playing better so it just cancels out and we end up with the same g1 win. Would be nice for the Cs to get a blowout win in g2 just to flip the script because alot of people are calling the Cs win in g1 a fluke since dallas by design always loses g1 while the Cs dont do well in g2s. Need to turn that around and we play like pacers series g2. Lets go Cs!
@randylahey82075 ай бұрын
@@TheRobversion1 absolutely. I didn't even think Boston played that well G1 offensively. They have at least a couple levels above that to go to. Bottom line, the playoffs are about matchups and Dallas was fortunate to run into two inexperienced teams in OKC and Minnesota to make their run. Now they're facing a hungry, experienced, three layered defensive team that has five starters that can shoot from anywhere. Regardless of who gets Finals MVP, if Boston wins my MVP is Brad Stevens. Best GM performance I've seen in years. They won before they even stepped on the court because of how great of a job he did. No. 18 incoming to Boston...
