My fave song from this album. Everyone was going crazy over other songs but to me, this remained Nº1 in Reverence. Live it's kickass, specially the ending section.

Same here. The two tell the same story of existential dread. I considered Horizons to be my favorite Parkway song for a very long time, then they came out with Reverence and I quickly placed Chronos on par with it. Both are masterpieces.

Dude it makes me so happy to see you enjoy this track as much as you did. Honestly it’s my favorite Parkway track and that’s saying a lot because I’ve been listening to these guys for so long now. There’s just something about this song that pulls me in, the guitar is so beautifully done over top of the distorted rhythm guitar, the drums have that powerful “ battle “ drum sound, Winston as always sounds great and the strings in the background just add such an epic feel to everything.
@evanwiger4 жыл бұрын
The blue and the grey - parkway drive. My personal favorite parkway song. Intensely emotional song. Especially that solo at the end.
@chrismetal27814 жыл бұрын
If you love this riff you should check out Karma, Idols and Anchors, Prey and The Void by them. Their lead guitarist is Jeff Ling and they figured it out over the years how to make Jeff's melodic really stick out. It's really a often used tool by them to put that lead guitar higher pitched with some great melodies (you heard it on Wild Eyes already)
@Hoopsick4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I love it. Thanks for the input 🤘

I´m kinda late, but gonna drop a comment anyway. Even though Parkway Drive are masters of the heavy sound and blasting breakdowns, there are very few bands that can make melodic epics like them, combining best bits of everything we like in music. They usually put a track like this to close out the album (with exceptions of their first and third album). Chronos is the latest addition, which is probably the most polished instrumentally speaking (added strings, multiple guitar layers etc.), however I would definitely recommend to check out the rest as well. First one was "Horizons" - absolute masterpiece combining their early brutal sound and Jeff´s guitar skills. Then "Blue and the Grey" - very emotional, great lyrics, multiple solos, breakdown, everything we all love in music. And "A Deathless Song" - first time when they experimented with different vocal techniques, adding cleans, similiar to Chronos music wise. As a long time fan, I would recommend to check these out, even in your free time since it really shows their musicanship.

The sound of this tune is probably the most classic metalcore style from the 2000's, but with all the improvements of the last 19 years. It's totally PWD playing, it's their sound, totally recognizable. Less techy song compared to modern metalcore but if you liked the more melodic side of the hardcore sound, this song is testament to it.

I missed some really great songs because I didn’t want to see them change. And this song being my absolute favorite of the last couple albums.
