The Knicks, under the CBA rules, could not offer Hartenstein more than $18M annually over 4 years. They offered him that much, then OKC offered him $29M annually over 3. Knicks were not actually able to even match it under NBA rules, so no, they didn’t let him walk, they couldn’t stop him from walking.
@rabeechowdhuryАй бұрын
OG Anunoby didn't want to take a paycut to pay Hartenstein for his deal. He doesn't believe the knicks will be in a title favourites situation had they been able to keep hartenstein too so in his mind, the paycut wasn't worth it. Orrr business is business and that overpay was necessary.
@MrRapmaster19Ай бұрын
@@rabeechowdhury it wouldn’t have mattered. The Knicks, whether OG re-signed or not at all, could not offer Hartenstein anything more than $18M annually for 4 years. Heck, even if they were under the soft cap, they could not offer more than that. This is bc of some stupid NBA bird rights nonsense in the CBA for players who only received 2 year deals. OG taking a lot of money had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Why would the Hawks trade Trae? Putting his flaws as a player aside, the Hawks don’t have control of any of their picks for the next 3 years. There’s literally no reason for them to tank unless they get their picks back from the Spurs. Yes they got younger, but that’s largely due to lottery luck, and Dejounte having less trade value than people thought.

There is a reason Yabusele hasn't played in the NBA. He looks good under Fiba rules and court. He's too slow to actually keep up with NBA wings and some pfs. He doesn't have the athleticism vertically to make up for his slow feet. He won't get much run with the 6ers. Because at the pf position in the East you have to contend with Giannis. Caleb not keeping Giannis out the paint and Yabusele is way too slow.
