That's like the 100th time I've seen that and I still have to fight back the tears. And I'm a man. I'm 40.

I was 9 years old when I saw Hoosiers in the beginning of 2000. I was part of my religion school's CYO Basketball team and one Friday night after practice the night before a game, we watched this on VHS. When Jimmy shot the final shot and made it, my entire team erupted in applause. Have never forgotten that. A beautiful movie.

"I'll make it." Jimmy had the heart and will of a champion.

I love this scene so much. The whole movie they had to learn to trust coach, and now here he had to learn to trust them. Sometimes it's time to stop coaching and let your players play.

The inspirational soundtrack by the late Jerry Goldsmith is what really brings this film to the next level.

One of those movies that no matter when it comes on and no matter how far in the movie you are, you put down the remote and watch it. Just a perfect film.

Jimmy Chitwood shot something like 97.8% for the movie. No wonder everyone wanted him playing!

I love this movie. I've seen it a couple of hundred times and I can't wait for march when they play this movie over and over. I am from Ohio and have been through Indiana on occasions and this movie perfectly catches the feel of the midwest in late winter, very early spring.

Fun fact: The fans storming the court was not actually planned in the movie, the first time they filmed the scene Jimmy making the last second shot, Jimmy made the shot first try and the fans stormed the court when it was not supposed to happen, but this movie was filmed in 1985 so the fans didn’t cheer we if they were in 1954 so the directors loved the idea so they did the scene again, Jimmy made the shot and the fans stormed the court perfectly! Greatest movie ever.

If any of you coach, nothing is better than having a player who wants to take the last shot and confident enough to say they will make the shot.
