well, that looks like a pretty cool carpet cleaning machine! I agree, it does look a bit tiring having to assemble all the tubes etc. but the results must be really worth it. I can only imagine how nice it must be having all the carpets smelling like soap

Oh wow. This vid transported me back to around 1989 when I was badgering my mum to buy a Vax. I was fascinated by 3 in 1 vacuum cleaners. She eventually relented and bought an aquamaster which I thought was a poor relation to a vax. Interesting that you think it wasn’t. Used it a few times to shampoo and for dry vacuuming but it gave up the ghost after a while. I think water got sucked in the motor. The ball and cage was always dripping wet and covered in carpet fibres. I remember going into my local SWEB (South West Electricity Board) shop in the town and perving at the Aquajet after that. 😂 Anyway thanks for this vid. As you were converting it to wet pick up, I remembered myself going through the very same steps. 😄

I had an original Vax before I got the Aquamaster and preferred the Aquamaster as it had more suction and was quieter. The second generation Aquamaster also had the internal shampoo pipe in the hose which made set up easier.

I cringed when you opened the shampoo sachet, mainly because I keep looking out for a cheap box for my Aquatronic 1100, but fair play for doing it! I have a battered abused earlier Aquamaster and the motor is rusty as hell (thread on manchestervacs forum) but it doesn't sound too dissimilar to yours, which is a nice benchmark! Lovely videos, as always!

ibaisaic I could tell by your face it bought back memories! I'd have to fight the urge to open one, would start hunting for a tatty pack or 2 and use those, which would probably be more difficult than finding a new set...

Thank you again for great video. Video angles were very well presented. I really have to mention that your video about the Electrolux 2020 Superboost Electronic convinced me to buy similar (almost) to my self. It's just without the electronic power control and called here in the Finland Volta U258. You were right, the build quality is excellent. My unit is also in incredibly good condition. But I have spoiled it. I have sucked up dust with it and make it accept powerhead.

Roger? Would you use ordinary Flash hard floor cleaner? Or in the new age of get the same quality product cheaper, Power Force (from Aldi) or W5 (from Lidl) multi purpose hard surface cleaners. With the Power Sponge?

You could use an alternative hard floor cleaner as long as it's low foaming.

Hi, I have this hoover but seem to have misplaced the syphon section to connect the water tank to the hose. You said in the video you could get replacement parts for this, I wondered whether you could share a link to get a replacement. Thanks

Gary Harris Hello, I have searched the internet and all I found is the syphon support piece which doesn't include the tubes or the gasket at the top that creates the seal. The whole part used to be available, but as the Aquamaster is quite an old model, many parts are now obsolete. Buyspares carries quite a few parts including the support piece, but not the complete assembly. If I find a website that has the part you want, I will let you know.

Any shampoo for use in 3 in 1 machines can be used. Just dilute it according to the instructions on the bottle.

Yes, you can connect the nozzle to the hose without using the extension tubes.
