You have to pry the 2 latches on either side of the bottom plate that hold in on, then the bottom plate slides off. Then you will also have to remove the hood to get access to the belt, pry on each side to release the 2 latches on each side then the hood slides off, then remove your broken belt, take the brush roll out, loop the new belt on the brush roll and replace the brush roll while fishing the belt into the little hole, then replace the bottom plate so the brush roll doesn't slide out, then loop the belt around the motor shaft and give it a couple of turns to make sure everything lines up and nothing is binding. From there, it's a reverse process of removing.

In short, here's one of my videos I made on how to change the belt. This should apply to your model as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2XCaGV8jdd1j5Y

Im looking for one of these Hoover Dimension , if you know or have one your selling let me know, So the only thing is the tool suction isnt that strong
@graysonsvacsandmowers54262 жыл бұрын
That's the only 2 things I can say bad about these, the other being that they're loud. I am looking for a Dimension Limited myself, and when I find one, I will be likely selling this one I currently have.

@@johnsokolowski3201 that definition of Facelifted, means it has a different hood design compared to how it was built from the factory.

You can get the fans on amazon
@graysonsvacsandmowers54265 жыл бұрын
Or can you? Hoover just discontinued the fans not too long ago, I was lucky enough to snatch one off eBay, luckily before they got discontinued.

Last month I brought a Hoover sprint its the one with no hose no height adjustment and no bumber. It was really really dirty so I took it part and clean the whole thing. The motor had dirt inside for some reason. The fan was not in good shape so I ordered one of amazon Where I live in Canada still had some fan still in stock.

Thank you for the video, I too owned a Hoover Dimension pretty much exactly like yours, this was my main vacuum and I loved that machine because it was so versatile. Unfortunately after 23+ years of service it died a spectacular death, I was using it to suck up some sawdust yesterday and even through my hearing protection ear muffs I heard a loud bang and then I heard the motor laboring like crazy. I shut the machine down and unplugged it from the wall, I first noticed a big crack on the upper plastic motor cover, upon further inspection I found that the impeller had exploded and broke through its housing to crack the upper cover. I think back on all of the times that the Hoover would suck up a coin or some other piece of metal and just bang around the impeller housing until it made its way into the bag, that must have weakened it to the point that it just came apart. [SIGH] I'll miss that machine.

What happened to the one that your family had? The dimension 2 without the tool cover and black dirt finder were part of my childhood vacuums that belonged to family members of mine. The dimension 2 that my younger cousin's mom used to have was sold at a yard sale and I could have bought it if it had all the tools, but it did not. My uncle used to have a black dirt finder since new and it was thrown away a couple years ago after having a broken handle and belt.

The fan shattered and the motor became extremely loud to the point my parents thought the motor was damaged, looking back I wish they spent the money to replace the fan.
@graysonsvacsandmowers54265 жыл бұрын
Shortly after I got this, I realized there was a hairline crack in the fan since it was running a little bit louder than my Legacy (kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6CzZ3murrR-rrM) so I didn't want to make the same mistake my parents did so I had the fan replaced on this.

What would be a better video is how to disassemble and reassemble the vacuum, especially the back wheels. I cannot figure it out. The clip and wheel assembly seems to be extremely difficult. Maybe I am missing a part.

Hi. What belt does this take? I noticed it’s the 38528027 but I read somewhere that that was replaced with the 38528040. Do you know if that’s true. I have a pack of 38528008’s but I don’t know if they’ll work or not.
@900Yugo5 жыл бұрын
Hoover changed the part number on models such as the Elite,Legacy,Decade Power max,etc. So the part number ending in 027 no longer exists. The 38528040 replaces the part number which is also known as style 190 belt.

some later models are not as good. They made bag compartment smaller and much harder to open (would take type y, or type z folded). Also, they put the hose inlet up higher so it tips the vacuum over. If you want higher reach, provide more hose, duh, keep the inlet low. Some designers can be so careless or incompetent, totally ignoring better previous designs with their changes that are downgrades. Pathetic and annoying humans. I have one of both so I know. My older more desirable one has bad impeller I think so I'm trying to find an impeller. BTW bagless cleaners do not filter as well as good bags. The best performing vacuums use bags. The best bags are micro allergen arm n hammer. they are worth it for household use. They go much longer without having odor. The only downside is the naming of them can be confusing they have different grades. Use the best for normal indoor.
