It was a nice gesture, but I think that it's better to give him a temporary job during this hard time. It was clear that what he needed was a steady income at the moment. Buying him the car and equipments would not help him pay for food, electricity bills, rent, etc. If he doesn't have a steady income, he would ended up selling everything again. Tyler should hire him to help out with the camera and editing. Logan would get a more steady income for some time and Tyler would have more time to spend with his family. It's a win-win.

Hoover, that was a really sweet thing you did for that guy. Decades ago, someone did something like that for me. I was down, hurt, out, and someone "willed" me a car. I would love to see a classic land yacht revived but in a way Hoovie describes: a Caprice Classic, Roadmaster, Crown Victoria, Diplomat, you name it. RWD, V8, soft touring suspension for ride quality, and a price point that a common person can go buy! I work with police officers daily, and it’s amazing how many still love the Crown Victoria over the Chargers that have taken their place. They like the power of the 5.7 Hemi but that’s about it. Crown Vics rode better, had more room, and had a way lower cost of ownership for the Sheriff’s Department.

Since the drivers of the Marquis sometimes confuse the gas for the brake, 150hp is more than enough.
@Artcore1034 жыл бұрын
I had a 1989 which I believe had slightly more horsepower than his, and also I prefer the 'updated' interior in the 1989 substantially. I got that car like 13 years ago, it was old lady owned with just over 30k miles, the entire car in mint showroom condition. Unfortunately i didn't own it that long, and it got totaled out by the ins. company after I got into a wreck. That's definitely the most upsetting car loss I've ever experienced, I had a nice stereo in it and everything. But as for the power, it was actually quite good! The hp numbers pretty low, but it had a lot of torque. I've owned 7 american luxury cars between the years 1984 and 1994. An olds, 2 mercury's, and 4 caddy's, including my current 94 fleetwood. Only one I'm still really missing is a town car.

@@chuckhaugan4970 i have a 1993 fifth avenue,(the one with the headlight doors) its fairly reliable as far as its engine goes. the interior is very nice looking until you start touching it than it creaks and squeaks and don't even get me started on the rattles and squeaks while driving. it has the 3.8 engine, the same one used in minivans up until 2010. Fun fact: the 1993 Chrysler fifth avenue was the last sedan to have it. The name 3.8 is misleading. Its a fairly large displacement figure for a v6 its very disappointing to know it only has 150hp. Its front wheel drive. The only thing this car truly shines at is snow driving
@chuckhaugan49704 жыл бұрын
@@joshuamcpeek4708 LOL! That 3.8 is bullet proof! Do you know why? I'm sure you do, it's a chopped 318 block! It's a push rod motor. I'd trade horsepower/ performance for reliability any day of the week and that's what you get with that motor. Back in the day, our families shop took care of a few bank and municipal fleets. Those van motors would easily go 300-500K mis before blowing up. But, as you describe above the body, and fit/finish wasn't designed to do the same. Fun Fact, in our fleet we have a 99 Ford with the first gen 5.4. That 5.4 has over 560K mi' on it with 1 transmission replacement at 400K or so. I bring this up because Ford then went and redesigned the motor in early 2001, installed it in trucks late 2002, and those motors won't even go 100K without issue. Chrysler always got an engine right and then stopped messing with it. When I was a kid, my first car was a 66 Chrysler product and other than finding a good alternator wouldn't die, no matter how hard I drove it. To me, the top 5 motors ever produced were the Chrysler 225, Ford 4.6, Buick 3.8, Chrysler 440/383, Ford 7.3 Diesel, and Chevrolet 350 (just due to generic and cheep not reliability). I've never owned a rig with the 3.8 Chrysler engine simply because in the late 80's through the early 2000's I drove jap crap and pickup trucks. Today, I just drive my beat up 2000, Ford, 7.3 diesel with over 300K. I can still work on that truck without any special tools or readers. So, that's why. And, I'm retired and frankly, don't give a crap about what people thing about me any more! LOL. One thing getting old allows.

@@chuckhaugan4970 dear lord I'm glad my chrysler didn't come with the mitsu-bitchey 3.0, that motor had a timing belt and the valve seats often weren't properly thermoset (the valve seats are supposed to be refrigerated and once in place they expand and fit firmly) in the 3.0 these seats would dead ass FALL OUT sometimes landing on top of the piston crowns. I came to Massachusetts in 1999 for a one and a half year stay. In the first week i bought a used black 85 Mercury Grand Marquis to be my daily driver. I did many road trips, down to Florida, up to Canada and all along the east coast. I so loved the comfort of the Grand Marquis. Never a problem with the car. Being from Europe, it was simply wonderful to experience "american luxury". Seeing the Marquis in this video, brought back so many wonderful memories. And for that, i want to thank you!

That is still the most laughable ad campaign in automotive history that I know of although faster than a speeding bullet by Joe Isuzu may have been a close second in terms of the b's factor.

Hoovie: These are the last breath of American RWD luxury Lincoln Town Car: Am I a joke to you?
@KlipschHead2814 жыл бұрын
Yep, the Town Car ruled, I used them in my limo business during the 80's and nothing was better.
@Jack_S_4 жыл бұрын
The Town Car did take a big hit in the 1998 redesign, interior quality tanked! Still rode pretty nice, though. I did like the earlier 90's one better, it was the last one to properly feel like a tank. The Roadmaster was killed off after 1997 too, and that New Yorker was the last of the big old school Chryslers. Cadillac had moved on after the 1993 DeVille, with the swaths of chrome and wood more or less firmly killed off. The most interesting vestigial land yacht feature, the bench seat, actually lived on and didn't die until 2013 with the Impala. Sadly, though, that bench seat was pretty uncomfortable for number 3, Chevrolet had all but given up on it well before it actually died.

Tyler, you’re really hitting your stride in automotive video journalism. Your narrative and delivery is the best among solo KZbinrs, and this video demonstrates this. I think your channel is severely underrated (I’ve worked for KZbin at Google), but your prestige and quality is not overlooked. I’m currently flying back from Detroit to San Francisco, and I mentioned your channel to several connections who are reimagining the Detroit auto show because of the recent circumstances. I hope you read this and realize you are being noticed at legacy levels of the auto biz. Cheers, Riley - great great grandson of John Simpson Gray

Probably won’t read this but a 94 roadmaster sedan was my first car about a year ago and me and my best friend picked it up with 99k on dash for 950$ in a Taco Bell parking lot and I’ve never had more fun with a car in my life, it drifted with the bald tires it came with

I'm 30, but I'm still sitting here thinking the only thing that'd make that Roadmaster better is if it was a wagon... lol. I have a '04 Crown Vic and an '07 Five Hundred. Like Hoovie kinda mentioned everyone seems to think cars now days all need to be sporty and stiff. But for me in a world of trashed Iowa roads and 65mph speed limits I prefer a nice floaty ride that doesn't punish my spine when I'm just trying to drive myself home from work.

I have an obsession with the Dodge Diplomat. It was my grandparents car when I was a kid and I never really saw them in the light blue they had, so when I saw that car I knew it was them. Then I got it as my first car and loved it. Eventually I had to get rid of it and have just recently bought another one that mostly works. Just have to find a dang steering box that's not trash.
