While I like the theming of being an aggressive deck that can stack damage modifiers, I don’t think this matches Hop’s character. I would expect this on Guzma, Gladion, Silver, et cetera; not the boy who ends up making a tanky team before switching to become a Professor.

Hop is the only rival that has managed to beat me in any Pokémon game. I played Pokémon Shield, and the battle in the post game took me by surprise. I was expecting a slow-passed battle, but then he throws a level 70 Zacian at me. I switched to Copperajah, and Hop used swords dance. Battle was over.

The problem with countering Hops setups is that you can't stop it from setting it up again next turn Ok you bumped my stadium, I can just try to get another one and get the ko

You hurt me with the Hop slander. I find he's one of the more enjoyable rivals in the franchise. I love all the SWSH rivals....... About the cards... That's nuts I may have to pick them up.... these sets really makes me wish they would release another gym heroes and challenge sets.

I was gonna say before I saw the band that this would go well with Dusknoir line/Defiance Band, but damn they made it BROKEN broken. Combine it with Kieran and now you have 150 to the active, 30 to the bench, or 360 Slash. Only thing that survives that is Stage 2’s with Hero’s Cape or Terapagos with Hero’s Cape/Bouffalant.

Whether or not this deck will be "meta" in any way, I am not sure, but the cards are all top tier and would look great as a deck.

Hop’s Snorlax is also going to be an absolute menace in GLC. You don’t even have to choose, you can run both Snorlax cause they have different names. Guzma & Hala gets stadium, tool, and Twin energy. 230 turn 1 going second is obscene in that format.

I'm thinking playing only 1 Zacian for a start and then using Turo to get it to my hand and never put it back so opponent will be forced taking only 1 prize each turn while I attack fast for 210 (Snorlax double colorless), 210 (Cramorant 4-3 prizes). No Metang or metal energy, deck purely for playing single prized pokemon.

Combo it with archaludon ex(maybe) this deck is going to be extremely overpower, they gave zacian alot of atk buff & even 1- energy for the atk, holy shi-

Hop’s Snorlax might be the new Cosmic Eclipse Ultra Necrozma Turn 1, going second, Hop’s Choice Band, Double Turbo Energy = 180 damage 210 damage if you can also get Postwick Town the same turn

@ that is unfortunate, if it isn’t returning then that is probably why we are seeing these more unique methods of turning 1 attach per turn into 2 attach per turn: Hop’s Choice Band and Crispin supporter

Does the cramorant attack fail or do 0 outside of turn 3-4 ? Curious if on other turns it would still do 90 with the Hop damage modifier tools. My assumption is no but I'm curious.

you would be unable to attack with cram since the card says “when your opponent has 3-4 prizes remaining”.

Yeah it specifically says "this attack does nothing", so it'd still do 0 damage

True but it could be interpreted as a base damage of zero, or it does 0. And then you can add 30 to zero and get 30 obviously. But if it fails it always fails regardless of modifiers

@ it can’t really be interpreted as a base damage of zero, since its base damage is clearly 120. that would be like adding 30 damage to an attack that doesn’t do damage period, which doesn’t make much sense

Cram’s attack is gonna make any deck that plays it in pre-release which the set will have will have an unbeatable early start since you start with 4 prize cards in that format

Canonically she never owned Nebby or a Cosmog for that matter. Though in Masters the protag gave her a Lunala that evolved from the other Cosmog they found
