@@jackwolf8245 The Hollow was already extremely powerful and could get more power if she wanted (she could even use her witch powers while inhabiting a vampire and use the vampire's powers too). However, she wanted Hope for two reasons: 1. Because she was the only other person whose blood could "kill" her. 2. Because Klause would never come after her in Hope's body because she was the one person he loved in the whole world more than anyone else. The Hollow had always wanted to be resurrected inside her original body, and no other person's body. She only possessed Hope as a means to protect herself and nothing more, else she would have been planning on possessing Hope since the beginning. It was never implied that she wanted her for her powers though it could be understood why. That said, Hope's magical feats are not the greatest in this universe at all. Expression Bonnie, Bonnie (powered with 100 witches magic), Season 8 Bonnie, Qetsiyah, Dahlia, Harvest Davina, Regent Davina, Regent Vincent, Esther (while creating the Originals), Esther Bennett (Esther while channeling the entire Bennett bloodline), Dark Esther (while channeling her deathspot's magic), Ancestral Esther (while she controlled the Ancestors), Immortal Freya (while she was still connected to the Slumber spell), Emily Bennett all seemed to be more powerful and with better feats than Hope. Also, Hope had been a witch for close to 14/15 years but wasn't powerful enough to break Penny's boundary spell, or resurrect her parents, or undo her own spell.

Hope is still powerful in legacies because the twins are always siphoning magic off of her and she seems unaffected unlike characters from TVD when kai siphoned them. She also shows her physical fighting power as a wolf she's not full tribrid yet. But I feel that she also doesn't let herself use her full power because Hope is afraid she will hurt someone she cares for.

People are saying that Hope was stronger in The Originals but it's not true. She's equally powerful in Legacies and The Originals. I think it's because of the difference in her emotional state. In the original, she had more problems emotionally fueling her magic, drawing from the rage of her father's absence and her being the cause of her mother's death. It's the rage that fuels the magic, especially among the Mikaelson's. Look at Daliah and Esther. During their time on The Originals, their presence was fuelled by rage and their magic extremely powerful, but during the flashbacks, Esther's magic was a lot weaker than in the present times, it was weaker as she was happier. While Daliah was angry a lot of the time making her extremely powerful. And when you look at Freya, when she was first introduced, her magic was potent and strong but as the series went on, she found herself at peace and was in a happier state of mind and that led to her powers being so strong. The same can be said for Hope. In The Originals, she was suffering with so much rage and hatred that it empowered her. While in Legacies, it was obvious that she has come to terms with her loses and has learned to dealt with them and moved on. This left her at Peace. In episode two, she was performing powerful dark magic that was fueled by her anger towards herself, and even Alaric commented that her rage was her father's and not hers. In episode 14, Landon also brought up past wounds and it triggered her causing her powers to act up and it was clearly more powerful than all the magic she done in the previous episodes. So it's clear that Hope's powers being dampened is likely due to her mental state.

I'm so sick of people saying that Hope seems weak on Legacies. She is in a different place emotionally than she was in The Originals. In the Originals she was dealing with multiple deaths. I'm excluding child Hope because she always brings her A game when she's protecting the people she cares about. For everyone who is saying she is less powerful now. She isn’t she is afraid to let herself lose control. Which is why we hear dark Josie say, “this isn’t fun your not even trying” on t.o she made Henry into a hybrid and regretted it because he died from people in town they killed him out of fear, not to mention people in the church. Landon is a Phoenix but it’s strange none of his family are Phoenix’s and suddenly he is? Hope is still young so we don’t know how far her magic can go since she went to a school who taught them to control themselves. We don’t know if hope can kill a Phoenix. And Phoenix’s are definitely not immortal nature always has a loophole. People the show is still new for gods sake it only has 2 seasons be patient.

Hope is obviously the patient big sister in the series. The writing shows that they look up to her and envy her experience and strength. I think part of her show of strength is her restraint. Maybe she and Wyatt Halliwell can marry and have a baby someday in the future.

Hope being possessed by the hollow doesn't count. It wasn't only her powers that the hollow was working with, it was also the hollows powers. Hope can't actually raise someone from the dead, especially when their head has literally been separated from their body. That was the hollow using her own powers to do that.

I know we are all pissed that hope isn't as powerful in legacies but I have a theory that think alaric is somehow weakening hope without her knowing because he knows how powerful she truly is and knows that if she ever freaks out something really bad could happen and she could lose control and accidentally kill people and we already know he had a magic fountain that could shot of the kids magic and supernatural abilities so why not have one specially for the most potentially dangerous student.
