The launch of the Mega Drive Mini 2 and the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is just days away, as is Halloween. As part of the campaign to build hype, the Mini’s creators, Yosuke Okunari of Sega, and Naoki Horii of M2, have been making the rounds in Japan with various publications. Two recent interviews they did with 4gamer and Game Watch reveal some very interesting comments about not only their newest mini console, but also the possible future for all Sega mini consoles. Long story short, due to costs and technology limitations, it’s not looking good? Can anything bring our chances of playing Dreamcast games in the 2020s back from the dead? Despite the bad news, there seems to be hope on the horizon.
