This is not poser. Black metal was basically doing the opposite of death metal, this dude has the same mentality and he gets a lot of shit for it. But listen! It's grooving, downright catchy! He "growls" better than a lot of other vocalists, and he does it while playing drums in a fucking huge robe. You couldn't do that. If he sang about Satan you would worship it, but because it's Christian you deny it. You're the posers in my eyes.

@MetalHimera I'm not so good in English, I don't know what ''conceived '' means, sry) But, if you look to the past, you'll see: practically all bands, which main influences are in metal were English: Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, even The Beatles! And, most of main heavy bands are british: IM, JP, BS - you know. Thrash metal, Death Metal - yes, they were born in US

@MetalHimera True, but those English bands were influenced by Amercan rock and roll artists and Amercan blues artists. Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, Little Richard, Muddy Waters. I agree that American metal was influenced by said English artists.

in early times the name "black metal" refered to an album by venom with the same name and meant pretty much "satanic metal". but words change their meaning. today "black metal", just like thrash metal, speed metal, dark metal, death metal etc. simply discribes a playing style. there's nothing satanic or christian about styles. only content of the music and attitude of the artist define this (i could preach about that for an hour).

Hey, just because metal rules, doesn't mean that there are rules that metal must follow other than that there are no rules. For a group of bands who "establish" rules then they go against that all that metal stands for, anti-"establish"ment. For real, get a clue dude. Metal was born in America!
@Lunarsickness17 жыл бұрын
I'm personally Athiest but satanic black metal or christain black metal...it really doesn't matter. Horde sounds fucking kick ass and they're christain...and Dimmu Borgir...well....just listen to the new album hehe

Actually Horde was not to make fun of the black metal then, it was to make similar-sounding music without the Satanic/Anti-Christian lyrics. He said it himself, he believes Dimmu, Emperor, Satyricon etc. are great bands.

Black metal is base on a style not theme. His style is black metal but he sings about Christian stuff. You don't have subgenre base on themes. Its base on style that why the term viking metal is stupid. Does every metal band that has a viking theme sound the same, I think not. I'll give you example Bathory's viking album sound nothing like amon amarth so you wouldn't put them in the same subgenre would you, I think not.

I understand that that's what Black Metal supporters believe about their music. That having a Christian Black Metal is somewhat of contradictory term. If you look at what Metal in and of itself is, however, it was created to break down these barriors and go against these stereotypes. In the end, it's art, and art (good art) shouldn't be confined to a certain philosophy. If you don't like Christian Black Metal, don' t listen to it.

satan has no creativity. he can only take and rape. the roots of this music are not satanic, he only took it and raped it and abused it for his own purpose. it's the same thing with a knife. it is a good thing: you can use it to cut food. but you can also use it to cut other people, even kill them. does that make the knife evil or the knife's "roots"? it doesn't. question: what - in your eyes - defines christian music?
