Hori has allways made very high quality game controllers, some even better than the first party ones.

The green light MODE emulates the PlayStation Analog Joystick input method. This was also a feature of the original Dual Analog PS1 controller (the one before the first DualShock).

Jag har 2 såna här i genomskinligt blått. Rätt bra kontroller, men föredrar ASCIIs d-pad.

Analog/mode switch never made much sense to me, especially on console controllers. Very few PS1 titles recognized the sticks even existed... I feel Sony was just trialing a proof of concept, for the DS2. On DS2, it made a little more sense particularly as they'd started introducing classic console/arcade game compilations (most of which strictly used buttons), and as I recall on most of them, they were mapped to use both... could cause some issues bumping the sticks if you were trying for the retro experience of just the D-pad. On some PC controllers, that will also toggle a flight mode. But again, its still otherwise useless. Actually a bit of an annoyance with my favorite PC pad, SteelSeries 3GC (recently discontinued; grr!)... sticks are off by default, have to hit that every time I plug it in or power cycle the PC. Think that and lack of Xpadder support is why they yanked the cord on them... spoilt kids can't be arsed to manually map an otherwise great, classic style pad. IMHO, "mode" would have been infinitely more useful if it toggled two map profiles for the D-Pad (especially on PC) instead of what it actually does. But, there's mapping apps (e.g. JoyToKey) for that. I think you can set each button for three different keys if you wanted to get really crazy with it lol. P.S. Damn, heard the sindou 2 had small sticks but... lol. Just bought one, should be getting here in a couple weeks from Japan. Hope its as good as most claim otherwise (really difficult to find a decent third party PS2 controller now... the worst of them have a ton of dead zones in the sticks. Heard these don't; really hope not). Wonder if I can even find those silicon covers small enough to work for that (want to preserve it as long as possible, those seem like they would help reduce the wear those tend to develop).
