Us too, let’s change the story’s name then, ToruMiya 🙌🏻🔥 Remi pushed Hori in the right direction, to be honest with herself and feelings about Miyamura so it was a good thing in the end. 😌

@@punkanddarling4418 Personally, I'm inclined to believe it was a little on-purpose. Remi shows several cases of being remarkably insightful about how people feel. There's no way she didn't know how Hori felt about Miyamura, and vice-versa. She forced Hori to own up to those feelings to herself, but I don't think she expected Hori to get quite so heated about it.

11:16 This is a translation error. The Japanese wording is ambiguous here, and doesn't cleanly translate into English. Basically Miyamura tried to confess but chickened out and left it ambiguous, saying something like "I love", where the object is context-dependent. Hori just assumes he meant her hands again, which is why she says she "Yeah, I heard you." She thinks he's repeating himself. The subs don't communicate this well at all, since they make it seem like Miyamura clearly said "I love you." He doesn't. The dub actually does a much better job of getting the original intention across, and preventing the sort of confusion that every single reactor seems to have over this scene. It has Miyamura start to say "I like...", he hesitates, then he cops out with "your hands." Then he repeats himself as if trying to cover up that he wanted to confess. So Hori's response makes more sense.

This makes a lot more sense 😄 Because were excusing their behavior ourselves, saying that they decided to ignore what was been said which was “I love you” from Miyamura a lot more clearly in the end (according to the subtitles) but with this information it makes a lot more sense that what was said was ambiguous… they need to the hand things again for Miyamura at the end, “I love… …your hand” is a good fix for the difference in language. They both did and didn't confess to each other, that comes from the ambiguity of the Japanese language. It's translated that way, but it's not exactly what they said but that opens up the can of worms of the Japanese language and how it's structure is different from English. I guess just take away that it was so ambiguous that neither of them knew for sure and it was easy to explain away as Hori meaning Miyamura's hands. If you're super duper interested you can look up "suki" and how topics are different.. but good luck :)
