From what you said around midway through about why you like this anime tells me that you are going to really love it. Horimiya is really tight with no BS and no multi-episode "misunderstandings". There's no filler. Every episode is solid and advances the story. One description of Horimiya is that it's a rom com for those who are tired of rom coms.

this show is just so different from other anime of the same genre in that it doesnt follow the typical arcs of romcoms and is actually very relatable... everyone on this show could be the main character it just so happens we're following these two

Just a heads up the anime is a bit more fast paced than the manga, this first episode spanned over a few weeks (maybe a month but I can't remember right away) and each episode going forward is almost all going to be covering a few weeks at a time.

Was the ending in the anime the same in the manga?

@@cyonejohnson21 Yeah the anime skipped a lot of comedy parts from the manga like sports festival and stuff like that but nothing didn't skip anything much relevant to the story. I think the anime actually did a very good job capturing so many things in only 12 eps. You can read the manga if you want the daily-life kinda situations as well but I'd say the anime experience was a 9/10 so there's no necessity.

First off Miamura was the one who told toru that he dose not think he could be in a relationship and that Hori was just being nice. All toru did was pass that information along to Hori when he confessed. This is why Hori was mad at miamura.

I have never dated but I have experienced something similar to the friends who like each other thing. I have a freind that everyone thought was dating me. They would walk up to us and ask "are you two dating?" I would answer "no, I promised my parents I wouldn't date someone with anger issues". I saw the face he made I knew after that that he liked me. A few years later we grew closer. He told me he was dating someone and I got jealous but I'm masked it well. I asked to see a picture and then told him "now how did you end up with someone so pretty". He got agitated and said "well you had your chance"... Realized I was being an a$$hole and that I still was hurting him. I gave him his space for a while. I was surprised how well I could read him how much I knew about him. He broke up with that girlfriend and then his biological mom died. He was going through a lot and then covid hit. It just started dating someone new. They dated for almost 2 years. But soon after they had started dating he told me he knew she didn't really like him. In our senior year I had a mental breakdown and I was too anxious to leave my house most days. Everyday I went to school he walked up and greeted me. He was always waiting in the same place to see if I had come to school. One of the days he cheerfully walked up to me and said that he had broken up with his girlfriend... I fumbled... He meant that he was available now... But I panicked and just said "oh, you okay man?". I feel so stupid. I know things wouldn't be easy if we dated. Even if we like each other our lives are really different. Even if we know how to read each other that doesn't mean things will go smoothly. And I'm too anxious to make the first step. On a side note. I looked him up on Facebook and found out that his stepmom is one of my mental health professionals 👀. I'm moving to the same town they live in... I might even be moving into the apartment building he lives in...
