This is glorious, and deserved a lot more attention than it got!

Seeing the intro of this made me think about the planned deorbit of the ISS. For roughly 25 years it has been a pivotal landmark of the cosmic frontier, and I wonder how much it'll feel like the world has changed when it's gone.

A pivotal landmark of the cosmic frontier? World changed after it’s gone? Is this a spoof, tongue in cheek comment. It is a tin can in space that has achieved very little. Don’t worry the Chinese have one up and running which must cheer your cosmic awareness.

Considering the probability of hitting basically anything in space if you go in a straight line is virtually zero. Every time the ship passes a celestial body (other than the ones within our solar system) it’s very possible that these flybys are millions of years apart.

That was so inspiring to watch. Space discovery has always been fascinating for me. Though, I feel that the events didn't have that much of an impact. In other words, what was going on certainly had some gorgeous scenery but not a super interesting story that I would love to watch more of. Otherwise it was definitely a good watch and i'm interested to see more from the creators.

How could you not be interested in seeing more? This is an amazing concept and it's funny, I completely understood the storyline before I even read it in the description. The world is ending and a prob is launched into deep space. Now I know it doesn't go into this much detail in the description, but from what I'm guessing is, it's the end of humanity on earth, but a probe carrying humanity's history, knowledge, data, dna, etc. (kinda like a mini Noah's Ark, preserving a our life as we know it). By the end of the trailer, the impression I got was that, the earth was wipred out, but after this probe's journey through deep space, and after crash landing on a strange new planet, life was also just beginning. The camera zooms in and the way I took it, it zoomed into a cellular level where you can see cells dividing and so life begins all over again on a distant planet. I'd love to see how life evolves on another planet after our extinction here on earth. Would it be the same? Would animals/humans look the same? What kinds of environments would there be? This concept is an amazing idea for a movie. I don't know how this couldn't spark one's interest.

@@xPaPa_CrunKx The story is not just boring, it's stupid. "Hey, we know the world is going to wipe itself out, let's spend vast amounts of money building a space ark to carry away to an entirely different star system!'""Cool idea bro, should we add some incredibly basic radar scanners and colision avoidance system to it?" "Nah, who needs that, space is empty." The fundamendal idiocy of the plot only makes the stunning animation more heartbreaking.

It might be an excellent intro for a sci-fi movie featuring the aftermath of nuclear armaggedon. It's shocking that the zero-sum game rationale prevails even in the space where astronauts would have to learn to see themselves as representatives of the whole human species not as warriors of nations! We need a new education system on Earth otherwise we will destroy each other.

The animation is impecable, but the story is idiotic. Not so much the escaping just as Earth blows itself up, though they had to have been prepping for launch long before the fight started, but you expect that any group with the capability to launch an interstellar probe would not have the nous to avoid flying edgewise through one of the few places in space where the chances of getting hit by something are more than microscopic? There is no possible reason for it. Even if you were using the planet's gravity to slow down in a momentum transfer, the additional delta v you'd get for flying through the rings vs just outside them is negigible. If you really were that desperate, fly through one of the many gaps, or inside the closest ring, where the space should have been cleared by atmospheric drag. The fact that it's beautifully animated, with lovely 'real-space' designs only makes it more profoundly disappointing that people who've clearly done the research could mess up this badly.
@astrotcg5464Ай бұрын
the premise is such that there arent people on board and that it is a failsafe. furthermore, i think the implied idea is that the spacecraft was not intended to crash on the planet and malfunctioned. just my perspective though
