Just got mine. After not flying RC for a few years I bought this to 're-learn' the process. NOTE: at 5:40 I noticed your left and inboard upper wing vortex strip is installed reversed compared to the outer strip which is correct. Soon as weather is good will be flying again. Thanks for the video.

Not only are the directions wrong with regard to those screws, they are also wrong on the installation of the GPS. The cub manual says there is a “pocket” with a “lid” and there is not. There is a place you can sit the GPS module on top of the receiver, but nothing to secure it in place, so I guess you have to tape it. In order to find the GPS plug in the receiver you have to wrench the receiver out of the plane cause its mounted with double sided tape, not velcro or a strap. Forget trying to reach technical support. They claim on the website to have a phone support but... no number to call anywhere. If you try to chat, you’ll never get through, but you will get told to try again later after waiting for 15 minutes. If you want to email support you cannot because they don’t have an email address. They do have a form but it is limited in characters to very few so there is not enough space to explain what your problem is. There is no manual either at Horizon or Spektrum for either the GPS module or the receiver. I did buy this model, GPS and a transmitter but I’ll never buy from them again. With ZERO customer support, incorrect manuals and no online support, no KZbin videos this company has no respect for customers. Just the worst post sale support and documentation I’ve every experienced. It’s truly a fraud to accept people’s money and then provide inaccurate documentation, no documentation and no access to support.

It's a great choice. I still have mine, though I smashed it up bad twice, flying too low to the ground in unassisted mode. The gyro is a great beginner help - nearly just as good, in some ways better, than having an instructor on a chord.

Bought one over the weekend. Haven't flown it yet. Sure doesn't seem like those tiny little screws will really hold it together with all the aerobatics. Glad to see you doing so much with it. Looks like it should hold up just fine. (but I still wonder in the back of my mind)

I watched a guy set his up at our flying field. The instructions were not very good. No warning instructions. He crashed it due to the GPS not working correctly. He had no control of the plane. The instructions should be better with switch set up. He also couldn't figure out how to activate the on and off for the stabilization and gps. So he was screwed. These things should be easier to set up

It's only 110 cm from tip to tip. Would not recommend disassembling it for transport, even though it's doable.

Hi krishna dev -- great question! In our opinion a Cub isn't NORMALLY a great aircraft for a beginner, however, this particular model has SAFE technology and GPS to assist with stabilizing the aircraft, so a beginner could be successful with this particular Cub! Horizon Hobby talks about this a little bit in their description of the aircraft. "Whether you've never flown RC before or you got your first taste of flying with a multirotor drone, the revolutionary Carbon Cub S+ is the most versatile, capable and easiest to fly RC airplane yet. Based on the Carbon Cub by Cub Crafters, an upgraded and thoroughly modern iteration of the classic Super Cub, and equipped with Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE® Plus GPS-enabled drone technology, this scale reproduction makes it easier to learn to fly in less time than ever before." Horizon Hobby has a video about SAFE technology on their website that can provide some more information about the technology that tames this aircraft just a little for beginners. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3vQiI2MndODlZo
@TwoGoatsRacing6 жыл бұрын
krishna dev this was my first airplane. LOVE IT!!! I’m flying on advanced mode only now. The only thing I would suggest is don’t get used to applying too much input to the controls while you’re learning in beginner mode. The SAFE technology is great, but it can teach you bad habits. Once you’re used to it, get some altitude and switch to intermediate mode. Fly around up high, getting used to less input. Do the same when you feel ready for advanced mode. Two things: 1) you’ll never “feel” ready 2) this airplane is tough as nails....go for it!!! Have a great time!

How much MPH wind can this plane handle? Whats the max wind for this plane? Thank you
@kevinouellette18935 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t go over 10 mph. It is not heavy at all. And the large wing span reacts like a sail! So I have had this plane for 3 months. Love it! And anything over 8mph. Is not enjoyable . Now you can take it up high and have time to save your self w correction but above 10 isn’t fun. But others may have own opinion

I'd rather just have flaps standard and forget the GPS , if you need all the automated crap you shouldn't be flying a plane this size yet .
@MikeBarnett17766 жыл бұрын
As a multirotor pilot, I like the idea of transitioning to a standard aircraft that has some of the features I'm used to having... to each their own, but I see no reason to diss the manufacturer or customers who are interested in the technology.
@joeblank6186 жыл бұрын
@@MikeBarnett1776 People have had problems with it though , like instead of the plane returning on its own to them , it took off and flew to the field they were at the previous day , 5 miles away . This plane is over .55 lbs also , so you need to have your FAA numbers in it .
@MikeBarnett17766 жыл бұрын
@@joeblank618 I've already had to deal with the FAA number issue due to the size/weight of my drones. As with any autopilot system, stuff happens. I once flew my IRIS+ in Ohio, but when I turned on the autopilot (with a local Columbus OH route programmed), it immediately took off for Florida! It took me about 5 seconds to figure it out, and then I just shut off the autopilot and flew manually. The big one for me is having the autopilot for circling and holding altitude... I've had to deal with fire ants a couple times while flying drones, and it's sure nice to let the AC handle itself while I'm wiping ants off of me!
