Horizon Zero Dawn Chieftains Trial Ultra Hard 2min 41secs - New Game+ First Playthrough

Clearing the Chieftain Trial on Ultra Hard difficulty, found just using the Adept Striker Bow and aiming for weakpoints to be the most effective way to clear the trial. Mainly because the Bellowbacks and Frostclaws are instantly frozen and take high damage. I also went for stealth armor to get more time to aim my shots. Who needs defence / shields when your not getting attacked? :P Thanks for Watching

Ultra hard is really ultra hard, it takes a good amount of practice to be able to do that. He made it look way easier than it really is.

you can kill other scorcher with logs as well as one of the bears and save even more time. Also ultra hard ain't that hard :) Lion king on Sega was 2 times harder than Horizon on ultra hard.

I think i may need to spend some time getting all of the ammo pouch upgrades. Do you guys know of any good small animal and fish hunting areas in game? At the moment i think i can only craft 40 arrows max instead of the 60 you have here. What i've also found is that the improved ice weapon from the DLC pops the bellowback's pouches in one hit, so essentially 3 hits each and they go down easy. Its just the Frostclaws i struggle with. You also wouldnt happen to have any videos on the Fireclaws would you? They seem to eat and drink all of my ammo regardless of what weapons i use.

Nora land is full of forests. I would recommend there for hunting small animals. Finding fishes was a challenge. Yet I remember that during an errand (In Foreign Lands) of finding missing Carja hunters, we had to hunt a snapmaw to find a missing bow. The lake surrounding that island had about 10-12 fishes. At least that is the only place I can remember to find a group with such number.

I just finished this on 3/50 seconds and it was SOOO hard. I didn't have any of the adept equipment since I wasn't on new game+ but I had to utilize EVERY log trap, especially to weaken the murder bears. Now that I'm on my NG+ run on ultra hard, that last cauldron fight against the frost murder bear has me scared. Any tips?

i know right, i'd usually go for the precision arrows for these. 2 salvos of it can kill the frost bellowback immediately. fully modded with great stats is insane. this gotta be in hard not ultra hard. he probably just turn off the the hp bar to make it look ultra.

Would you always recommend hardpoint arrows over precision arrows for damage? Because i usually hear that precision arrows are recommended more for damage.

I think it depends on how you like to play, the precision arrows do have a better damage output but im a big fan of the ropecaster and would find using that and precision arrows to be a massive drain on my wire supply (especially on Ultra Hard) also I like that hardpoint arrows have a higher tear rating.

@@dippydavidson that's exactly my problem with my playstyle, i'm a heavy consumer of wire as i use ropecaster and precision arrows way too often. 😅 farming the glitch behemoth though usually solves it for me so i can still spam it. can farm 100k shards in about 1 and half hour regardless of difficulty.

Carl J - I totally hear you, it does feel somewhat abusing the system as I'm sure it's not something they counted on people doing repeated for unlimited slow mo and for sure if I had the reflexes and skill to achieve the same result without it, I sure would have 😋

totally agreed. it makes it feel less challenging. besides, the skill concentration is more than enough as the cooldown for it is very short. all you need to do is maybe run a bit or dodge then use it again. much better for aiming too.

what kind of mods you use for the bow, my ugly adept sharpshot bow doesnt even hit that hard lol and its slow as dirt. and with the faster bow i cant destroy the body parts as fast or as accurate :( been trying this for about an hour on UD to get gold

Powderedtoast Man - I use the 'Untested Weapon Coil' from the sidequest "The Hunters Three" [51% DMG, 35% Tear, 35% Fire] and the rest are just rare finds [47% DMG, 31% Hand] [45% Tear, 31% Hand, 16% Fire] [60% Hand, 12% DMG] I think as long as you have some decent DMG/ Handling mods and are triple loading your bow it should be doable

Sky Rispa yeah I think by bow dmg range is about 50 with around 120 handling on the faster bow. Looks like your numbers double that lmao. My triple shots are hitting the backside of the scorcher for like 200-300 at most

yeah i havent seen a single good triple mod since ive picked the game back up. and when i did NG+ i just did it for trophy clean up originally so i never grinded anything just ran thru to the end on UH. now playing the dlc, im still on ng+ UH with none of the override unlocks and had like 3000 shards to my name haha. my slow bow has 80 dmg with like 2 dmg mods and and tear one. and my fast one has 40 dmg. My god its been rough hitting like a wet noodle :( im seeing vids with people having 100~ dmg on the fast bow and 175 on the slow one, just shredding everything. it takes me 2 triple shots to pop the thing on his behind, and sometimes it doesnt auto stun him just puts the stun at the edge forcing me to use the electric arrow to make it happen. I did manage to make it to the frost claws with about 2:30 on the clock but i just cannot kill them fast enough with my current layout.

You need the new bluegleam bow from the expansion to get those crazy numbers, the bows frm the expansion when fully drawn triples the damage or something!

Says Ultra Hard in the title ? Which at the time (dunno if it's changed 3 years on) could only be selected in New Game+ so it's obviously first playthrough of Ultra Hard. Adjusted the title for the easily confused though 👍

Well it is because the enemies dont have health bars, also search my psn to see the trophies for NG+ and Ultra Hard completed, which means I had no choice but to play frozen wilds on UH cause it was locked into my save. But cheers for the dislike anyway 👌
