Horizontal Hive Upgrades

I had a lady that requested two horizontal hives with peaked roofs. i just about got them done. so she said when she comes to pick them up we can do a video and show you all how they came out. was a fun build, it used a lot more metal on the roof surface since each side of roof had its own full length metal on it, then i put another section of metal over the ridge cap which covered over 5 inches of roof on each side. it should be a pretty water proof roof.

⁠​⁠@@TheRainHarvestergo to Fred Dunn’s KZbin channel. He has a link to his hive plans. With some thought you can incorporate @SilentDeath002 ideas to Fred Dunn’s design , add some of your own ideas and have a unique hive all your own. My advise is draw up your ideas and sit on it a few weeks before cutting lumber because you will make several changes. Changes on paper are cheaper than changes on lumber. I been tweaking my design(based on Fred Dunn’s ) has went through at least 4 changes on paper so far! Good luck!

we continue to come up with extra options to add to these hives, also in the future we will be making even longer hives with almost double the depth custom frames. basically depth of two deep standard frames

not a bad idea. ill just keep it simple so anyone can replace the chains if they ever go bad, and chain is cheaper then the gas shocks

I know this video was made a while ago but mabye had an idea for you about the shipping problem. What about branching out to others in other states and partnering up to build them in different locations for ease of everyone for closer locations, Or another is to sell plans online. Hello , yes i shut the web site down until i can get all my medical problems taken care of, pretty much worked myself to death last two years. i was actually blind for around 6 months. i should be back up and running but instead of taking orders which went completely off the chart, ill make videos saying what i have available so i do not have to work 24/7. i am making these all by myself

@@SilentDeath002 Well although I am sad to hear about your health issues I am glad to hear that you are up and about. We had a lot of channels go dark last year. Personally, I use the business model you are moving to for custom guitars. I don't take orders...I just build them and people could buy my inventory. The coof got me for a good 6 months though and both those and the bees suffered. Gonna build some long langs this time...enough shlepping langstroth boxes around and my top bars are too much maintenance. You have a nice hive design, may you have many blessings with them.

Hi MadCore. i shut down the web page until i get all my surgery procedures done, i still have one more cancer surgery, then hopefully i can get some strength back. now you can go to this sight for a basic horizontal hive plan, but its nothing like mine. he also charges way more for one built then mine, horizontalhive.com

Hello Dona. for medical reasons i shut down the web site until i get all my surgeries done. when i am able to , instead of letting a lot of orders build up, ill make what i can, and post a video saying it is available . i pretty much worked myself to death last season. did not help that i went blind for 6 months either. vision is already repaired.

i do have one double deep which is twice as deep and frames are larger. its stored inside my shop. and they go for 850.00 with frames
