First time ever seeing Mikey get submitted. Very rare, but happens in absolute when you are just 145-150lbs or so. Same happened with Marcelo in the absolutes sometimes. Nothing but respect to Mikey for even trying though. He doesnt need to do this, but does it anyway to test himself. Major props.

If they wouldn’t have went out of bounds when Mikey was first getting his back, I feel like things could’ve turned out allot different! He was in a really advantageous position. This is one of the problems with these open mat Jiu Jitsu tournaments. There needs to be some sort of barrier put in place so the fight can just continue until the end! This has been a huge flaw with Jiu Jitsu tournaments and it needs to be fixed so things can really play out and there won’t be any advantages given or taken away from competitors!

Honestly the match would’ve went the complete opposite way if the first restart wasn’t bs. Mikey had his back with hooks in. Would’ve been over if it weren’t for a rules set. @user-vc67 ай бұрын
so this a slightly weaker finish then dismounting but not weaker then just squeezing, in fact you can go knee on belly with your tripod drive... i do it when passing half guard and the guy gives a arm triangle.. what i'll do is tripod up and drive off my tippy toes into the choke. not only is my choke squeezing im mostly blasting the guys face with shoulder pressure. I keep my free leg close to the half guard (basically like your knee to the hip rule, the move prevents reguarding) so not to get into closed guard., thats the main defence. some guy go to butterfly but just grip so dam hard and drive .. your getting a super underhook that allows you to pass and as soon as he lets u through you choke him worse ..... w
