I have a KZbin collection of 700 favorite symphonies, with an additional collection of favorite emotional symphonies (about 50). The later list is far more subjective than I can give words to. It starts off with Howard Hanson's Symphony #2 Romantic. Beethoven and Brahms are powerful as they are are not on my favorite emotional symphonies list. I just added Fitelberg to that list. But the additions to both lists are slacking out, getting harder for me to find.

Doug I have a similar list, but not just symphonies - graded and commented. I have listened to every composer I could find available free to listen (excluding the well-known ones). From what I have seen of your comments I think we would have many in common. Could we swap lists?
