So glad you're talking about this! I went through over 10 years of marriage with no or low libido, not even realizing it. SO glad I am off the pill FOR GOOD. And it's all because of your amazingly informative and open videos. Otherwise I would've never had the courage or even thought to stop taking hormones. Thank you for all you do!

HBC absolutely destroyed my libido when I was on it. Fortunately, it returned quickly after I stopped but I wasn't on it long at all. I didn't even want to be touched by my partner and I felt like I was on the edge of having an anger breakdown any second. It was horrible.

Me too! 10+ years I’ve been on depo. I never wanted or even thought about sex an hated being touched. I felt like I was being violated, but only had sex to make partner happy. Only recently have I put it together this has been due to the depo shot. For so long I thought I was just weird an something was wrong with just me.

Lovely video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Chireetler Figure Recipes Rule (do a google search)? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for revealing the secret to boost your sex drive (Libido) minus the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my best friend Jordan at very last got excellent results with it.

I have been taking the pill for almost 6 months and I gotta say that my libido doesn´t exist anymore .... before taking the pill I had so much sexual desires , now I don´t. I notice that I don´t get much natural lubrification has I did before . I have been training my mind slowly , but I just don´t feel like it . I have consider stop taking the pill but in another hand I didn´t want to stop because it helps me in other issues. Now we women have all the options in front of us but that doesn´t feel like it´s helping along

I was on the birth control pill from 15 until 26- it was pretty crazy because I didn’t notice anything in the beginning but by the end I had stopped having a primary drive- I only had a responsive sex drive. It took a lot to get the engine started and most of the time I needed lubrication. I didn’t blame the pill for this because the side effect wasn’t there for me as a teenager. I wondered if I was gradually becoming asexual. I felt like my body was betraying me. I was young and sex was supposed to be fun but my sex life was plagued with anxiety over whether or not my body would respond as I felt it should. I was absolutely amazed at the sexual awakening that occurred when I came off the pill. I no longer have anxiety about sex, or sexual dysfunction and I experience desire and fantasies etc. It was a miracle for me. I conceived my first child 2 months after quitting (my husband and I were trying)- when she was a 1 month old breastfeeding cluster nursing newborn and I was still experiencing sexual desire and wanting to connect in that way, far above what I felt on birth control, I knew I would never take the pills again. As a consequence my children are only 19 months apart and my husband had a vasectomy while I was still pregnant with the second one. I’m so thankful, and I know I’m blessed to be one of the few people who claims a better sex life after kids than before. But, I’m also bummed to think how much more fun and fulfilling my pre-motherhood sex life could have been.

Like so many others here, I’m so glad I’m not the only one. Started taking HBC right before getting married and I felt my libido disappear in less then a week of taking it. My gynecologist called it stress. I honestly could not believe that my doctor was telling me that I could have lost my libido so fast due to stress. So glad I got off the pill and so glad I found a new doctor. I’m still recovering from the damage, just hope the recovery is fast.

I went on the pill about 6 months before my husband and I got married and it killed my libido. we've been married over a year now and it took a good 6 months into our marriage, and a long insecure, emotional convo with my gynecologist to realize that there wasn't something wrong with me. I got off the pill for that reason (and because it also made me sick) and now I'm finally enjoying all the great, intimate sex that I should've enjoyed on my honeymoon.

Thanks to your videos and insight, I am also able to talk more openly and freely about my cycles and any sex-related topic with my friends and other women around me, which I used to think was dirty (especially talking about periods). I've even had some of my friends come to me to tell me that they feel more open and more comfortable talking about these things with me. So thanks for everything :) keep up the great work! xx

After 6 years of being on the pill with almost no difference in my libido, things started to go down to the point that I no more had the need to be intimate with my boyfriend, and when I did I almost felt nothing. Like you, I really wanted by my body didn't react like it should. I just wanted to cry! Orgasm became very difficult, and I was fine without having sex. Do your research and consider going off of it. I felt different just a week after but my body needs more time to be what it used to. Good luck :)

@@calooza88 I've been off birth control for 5 years with no improvement in my libido. I've done some research and it seems to be due to the fact that HBC increases something called a Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) which attached to Testosterone and makes it unavailable to your body. There are studies showing that the SHBG remains high even after going off the pill. This situation has ruined my relationship and it's heartbreaking. I'm considering doing hormone replacement therapy to see if it can be fixed. I am also considering a lawsuit against HBC companies that supplied my pills. Hope this helps and that you can find a solution. I'm hoping there's a light at the end of the tunnel for us!

@@evaholupchinski-fs4432 Don't ask why I'm watching this video, but SHBG stays high in men who stop taking anabolic steroids. There's a few tricks to work around this, but the best one that can be used for women might be a supplemental mineral called boron @6-9 mg per day. Here's a link to a study on this. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21129941 Who knows? boron supplementation is often used by post menopausal women. But i haven't read anything about cycling women. Maybe get some bloodwork done to see where your SHBG is at, and then try boron to see if it lowers it like it does in men. Hope you get better.

It enrages me that Female Sexuality is such a Taboo subject and there are little to no official treatments for Female Sexual Disorders! I've been off HBC for 7-8 months and my libido has not come back at all. My periods are also very irregular, I had like 3 or 4 since then. I don't have the ability to feel aroused by my husband and it just feels awkward and boring to be intimate with him. I WANT to want it, I desperately need this connection, since I started taking that crap before I even engaged in sexual intercourse. So I've never really experienced that kind of connection with my husband and it was always a dreadful, boring task despite my husband being a Top Tier lover and really attractive!❤ I love him so much and he's so supportive, loving and patient but I feel like this is destroying me (and him too). My sex drive used to be amazing before I ever touched that disgusting pill!! Literally every passionate encounter I had with him before the pill would make me feel so connected and alive! Its been 4 years of painful sex, 0/10 satisfaction, forced orgasms and endless regret at having ever started HBC at all.

My libido was LOW... which is another thing that made me research the side effects of birth control... I knew from just being a young person that before birth control I thought about sex and craved it a lot even though I wasn't sexually active for a long time..(lost my virginity at 18, and stopped being sexually active at age 19when I no longer was with that guy)... I was sex free until marriage at age 24 and that's when I slowly felt my libido slip away... I had just started birth control so everything was great but months after I was disinterested in sex period... but being off the pill I've found that it's come back naturally as I wasn't on the pill for very long. But this is real! A real problem!

Being on depo shot 10 years and only now am I finding out it’s the reason. Guys always made it worse bc they would get upset and say I was cheating or that I didn’t love them or worse say something was wrong with me in a very hatespirited way. It’s caused so many issues for me. I have read that low estrogen BC is an option as well as herbal desire enhancing pills. I’m scared it’s messed me up for life as I’ve read many women taking depo shot/progesterone have said even 6yrs after getting off it that their bodies haven’t gone back to normal. @@abigailcosta1716 i don't want to discourage you but only marginally better. I'm okay before and just until ovulation, then it goes downhill. If I were you I would check for any nutritional deficiencies or hormonal imbalances, it's very likely you are estrogen dominant. DIM and cruciferous veggies are good for that. I would also have wished that I checked my b12 more carefully, you should aim for being as high as possible in that within the reference range for optimal health overall. Wow, I've brought this up amongst friends, and I get a huge amount of pushback! I've never actually gone on HBC (only ever used barriers and FAM), and I feel I have a very fulfilling sex life. A lot of my friends have been on HBC for the entirety of their sexually active lives... and I'm wondering if they don't question if HBC affects their libido because they don't even know enough of their "baseline" sexuality to compare it to. I'm not willing to go on HBC myself just to test out the differences, tho. These people also get skeptical when I tell them my partner of five years and I use no HBC and have never once had a pregnancy scare... but what can you do? As for embracing HBC-free sexuality... I really enjoy writings and interview with Kim Anami. She's a pretty cool sex coach (the one who lifts things with her vagina--yes, that Kim Anami), and she's very pro hormone-free BC.

Right after our wedding, I took BC to prevent pregnancy and immediately felt depressed and not myself, so I went off it and used other methods (condoms, rhythm) with ease. Recently, I took the pill for a year due to a cyst. I lost my strong libido overnight, and felt emotionally blunted. I lost attraction to my husband, and it became unbearable until I went off it and wow my libido came back full force and my husband is smokin' hot again! So now feel I missed a year of great sex with him due to the pill. Never again!

Thank you for talking about this I’m convinced my birth control is making me have a low sex drive. I have the Nexplanon plant for three years and then I had it taken out for a couple months because I didn’t know what I wanted to do for birth control. Luckily at the time I was single I was not having sex with anyone. I then got into a relationship so I got a Depo shot just to stole my decision. Immediately after that I had no sex drive again. My doctor called me crazy and said it was very unlikely that my birth control is causing this, but I am convinced just because of the timing. In the couple months I was off my birth control I wanted it all the time, now that I’m back on it it’s like full turkey again. It’s super disappointing because there isn’t much options besides hormonal birth control that’s at the latest 99% effective

I had the same experience while on HBC. I know this sounds so cliche but I think a massive part of it is giving your body time, self care and love. Don't feel guilty or try to rush it, because that's putting pressure on you that's only going to make things worse! I'd also consider supplements (e.g. Vit B6) that help with hormonal balance - but I'm not a doctor or anything, I just find they help me.

I would love to see a video about spotting/irregular cycles after stopping HBC. I'm sure you have touched on this many times before, but specifically having an entire week of "spotting" before your regular period. I've spent a lot of time searching on forums for answers, and I've discovered so many women experience the same thing I do. I came off the pill 3 years ago (Tri-Cyclen Lo) and STILL have a week of dark brown light bleeding for a week before my actual period for 5 days. I've spoken to many doctors, gynos and naturopaths and after many tests and scans no one seems to have an answer for me other than 'you must just have an irregular period'. But my period used to be beautiful before HBC (every 28 days, for about 5 days and no spotting in between). I know it must be hormone related, because I still suffer from acne despite eating very healthy/dairy free/no red meat. Recently I have gone completely vegan and started taking DIM (Estroblock) which seems to be improving my symptoms, so I'm starting to think it is related to too much estrogen in my body. Something for you to research if you are looking for new topics! I love your channel

Have you read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Welscher? She addresses this topic, although it would be useful for you to track your fertility signs to see what might be going on. Here is what she says about the subject: "Premenstrual spotting accompanied by high temps before dropping on the day of red bleeding is usually indicative of poor ovulation leading to low progesterone, or a luteal phase insufficiency. In essence, the corpus luteum starts to break down too soon, which in turn causes a premature shedding of the uterine lining. If the spotting consistently occurs before the 10th day of your thermal shift or lasts three days or longer, you should see your doctor to rule out a number of other conditions, including thyroid issues, fibroids, endometriosis, and endometrial polyps. Assuming you don’t have any of these, you can hopefully resolve it with some of the natural approaches discussed in Chapter 9."

Treating estrogen dominance with estroblock alone might not help you because you will lack progesterone either way. good luck :)

Thank you! This is the most information I have received about my problem, and like I said I've spoken to multiple doctors, gynos and naturopaths. The naturopath explained briefly what you just said but I didn't understand very well, and I actually own that book but haven't read it cover to cover. I need to get my hormone levels checked properly, until then I am going to continue eating a healthy diet rich in those minerals. I'd like to know if Estroblock would be harmful in my case, or should I continue taking it while trying to improve my progesterone levels?

I'm suffering this too, although I have spotting after my period as well. I've been off HBC for a year now. I got my hormones checked and apparently they are a bit off but nothing to be alarmed of. I've been told that it's normal, that my hormones can go off balance sometimes, but I think it's too much coincidence.

Oh, wow, it's such a huge topic. I think you're right that hormonal birth control is one factor that's harming women's libidos, as well as other inputs like improper diet, lack of exercise, not enough sleep, improper stress management, lack of meaning in people's lives, etc.; other factors are the constant bombardment by ads that are designed to make us feel like garbage about our looks (which, remember, is the most important thing about us, according to said ads), as well as the fact that pornography is so widespread, degrading to women, and is used by the vast majority of men (something that can't help but have an effect on virtually everything about men and women's relationships to one another).

I don't want to be on this pills they have dramatically changed my sex life. I don't know what do to.

I'm on nexplanon and have had it since January 2019. June I didnt have a period and now I'm having 2 periods every month and its September. I noticed today actually that it's really hard for me to orgasm, even though I'm doing the same thing I usually do. I've been stressing a lot but I swear when I do orgasm, it barely feels good for a millisecond. It makes me so sad but the only meds I'm on is nexplanon and it's been messing with period so I can only assume it's making me not able to orgasm. I have a high sex drive and was always down to do it when I was sexually active so idk why I'm like this now. It sucks. I'm getting this thing taken out soon. If I would have known it could do this to me I would have never gotten it.

This is why us men cheat sometimes, morally wrong ? Good question but the truth of the matter sexless relationships/marriages will ultimately be detrimental to the union..I get the reason women get birth control but the lack of sex is a side affect slowly demising the bond with the men. Hope the vid helps y'all and I learned more as well peace

At 16 I had the implant in my arm and it made me feel low in mood i put on weight and I just felt horrible, so I tried the copper IUD so i could still have a period it caused me to have cramps every day and none stop bleeding heavily so I took it out on my own, I then went on the pill but kept forgetting to take them so the last thing I thought to try is the depo injection it stopped my periods completely but all of the contraception that I tried it destroyed my labido as well I'm no longer on any contraception and if I was to get pregnant then fine I'll deal with it also after stopping the depo in June I'm still waiting to have a period just to feel normal as a woman I've 2 children and 33 year old contraception has put me off completely
