They could hinge that plate. All of my higher end HO U.S. engines have the hinged plate. Still might have to pick one up anyway. Thanks Jennifer.

Very nice review thank you, Jenny. I know you do not like to fit the brake rigging but, if you were to fit it to the loco it would hold the sand pipes away from catching anything. Martin. (Dhaka, Bangladesh.)

You should be able to gentle push the fall plate down a little to make it look more level. I did this on my castle, much better appearance now.

Good review, it makes laugh as a analogue dinosaur that I am getting alot of peer pressure to convert to DCC this or King George 1 would be the ones I would go for if I was going to convert my layout Oswestry Road to DCC, however I was very impressed with your review

Nice loco this. Ive close coupled my EoSG. Only issue I have is the front bogey tends to stick sometimes so after going around the curve the front of the loco still looks like it's still on the curve. Tried a bit of oil but hasnt really fixed it.

Your pronunciation of St Germans is the correct one Jenny. Anyone pronouncing it with a French accent here in Cornwall would get a puzzled look! ps Good review, by the way!

There are some 21 pin castles with full esu sound that were released before TTS excisted but why they still show it on 8 pin models who knows.

Is there not supposed to be FOUR CHUFFS per revolution on a two cylinder steam locomotive? I only count TWO. Why is that? Can't they time the chuffs better than that?? Is there a CV to adjust?

Castle class is 4 cyclinder - two inside in addition to the two outside. Some DCC decoders can be adjusted but I don't know about this one - hopefully someone will be able to add to this.

Agreed, even on 4 cylinder locos (castles) you should hear 4 blasts per revolution. An exception was the Lord Nelson class of the Southern region with all members, except one, set up to produce 8 blasts per revolution. All 00 models I've heard so far don't seem accurate at all.
