Railroad is definitely the best way to get youngsters involved in the hobby

I liked the heavier music that you originally used that was shown on your TV program. But I understand that not everyone is a metal head 😎, and this is a good comprise that will appeal to a wider audience 🙂👍👍

Nice locos from a less expansive train model range. You do not have to shell out a lot of money that you other wise have to for a similar loco. The models are nicely decorated and they have a expansive feel and a robust constuction. Again Hornby have hit the mark.

One of my first Hornby locomotives was the Deisel Freight Pack Peart Industries No. 6 and I would highly recommend it to anyone starting in OO scale or with Hornby products.

I like that you can still see all the crap, cardboard boxes and tool boxes in the background in the rest of the store room they filmed in as a shed or loft full of boxes and tools in the natural environment of the train set XD I really want to buy the flying Scotsman set now but I'de only get a few days to play with it till I start in the army 😭

Great video Railroad is a good alternative to the dearer models for those who do not want to much fiddly parts.Love them and the more detail ones.They all have a part to play on a model layout.Thamk you Hornby.

Roll on Hornby Railroad! They are aimed at being fun and they are. I've got Hornby kit from the 70's and 80's and the Railroad Range fits right in. I will say the newer kit I have(Hornby Railroad, mainly) runs a lot better than the now aging 'First Trainset' stuff, as is to be expected. I hope to see the range widen with the better detail but it's not worth having it if it's just going to get damaged. They're also 'starters' or 'Bases' for some more ornate 'scratch-work' as is desired. Great stuff as long as the price reflects the differences. Cheers!

I do like the items in the Railroad range. I do have that crane but it's in the BR black livery and weather and I think only designed as a limited run for Hawkins bizzar I think? P.S I would love to see that layout track plan in a future edition of Hornby track plans, I have a 009 plan for the top section.

Great video Hornby I think the Railroad is a great range as it allowed kids to get in the hobby. With not worrying about breaking the detailing on super detailing trains. As I'm looking at one of the Railroad packs want is R60047 Triple Wagon Pack, Mixed Wagons with Brake Van. Hornby, do you know where R60047 is coming out? And Have Hornby fix the light bleed problems with their LSWR, 4 Wheel Coach,?

"designed to be less easily damaged" yes, that's exactly what lima thought when they made them originally...
@alanrobertson97903 жыл бұрын
Today I marvel at how easy Lima are to maintain. Modern locos are not only very expensive but have far more faults. Have about 3 with faulty motors, another with fractured bogies, several that are noisy. Only ever had one faulty Lima. Lima 60, 59/66, 73 and 156 are their best. I suppose we would have to stop buying for manufacturers to take reliability seriously but we don't.

When are we gonna get a super detailed LMS 2P or class 06? Also a caledonian 264 and a GWR 101 would be nice, although I do realise the 101 was a singular locomotive.

I only buy the Railroad range now. No way I'm paying £180 for a train with lots of fiddly bits that fall off. The Railroad D49 and Class 73 being my favourites. Post some footage of the Class 20 please.

Hi
@DavidRobinson-rj2sp3 жыл бұрын
Looking at the breakdown crane it is so 'toy trainset'. Yes it's Railroad but the R-T-R market is crying out for an accurate model of a Cowans Sheldon steam crane to rival/complement Bachmann's stunning Ransomes & Rapier yet there seems to be a reluctance to produce decent Engineer's Trains. A good business model is to indentify voids and fill them. Serious modellers are willing to shell out the readies as Bachmann has proven with their Ransomes & Rapier nearing two hundered and fifty quid and Bachmann's crane is getting harder and harder to get hold of as demonstrated by major retailers no longer discounting them.
@petersmith44553 жыл бұрын
why not get the bachmann crane or a hornby-dublo crane,just as good, to tool up costs money,bachmann have done this, so why should hornby bother ? at the end of the day they are all toy trains even if you pay 150 pounds for a loco
@DavidRobinson-rj2sp3 жыл бұрын
@@petersmith4455: What an asinine comment. I have a Bachmann Ransomes which is NOT a Cowans Sheldon. They are quite different. You dispaly a considerable lack of knowledge on railway matters so I should stick to maybe Noddy.

Why on the suspension bridge have the overhead wire support loops been fitted when there is no wire no apparently any locos that have an overhead pick-up ? What's the point............
@johnd88923 жыл бұрын
When the bridge was tooled up in 1963 by Triang they had an extensive range of overhead catenary wires and masts with several Locomotives that could be powered independently by the overhead wiring. A puzzle that as the full size railways have moved much more widely to electrification models have moved away from it. Producing working overhead electrification seems to be too hard for Hornby and other UK manufacturers and even exhibition layouts.

It would be nice if they would stop releasing non prototypical models and liveries or at least state that they are so on the advertising and packaging, i'm sure many are dismayed when they realise half their collection is more toy than model.
@gopivasudevan95933 жыл бұрын
The class 37 hornby still looks like the old one . Not worth the retail value . Better buy used models for half that
