Looks amazing, I understand that the layout is is filmed on uses all hornby products, but the beautiful locos would look 100 times better on a 'proper' layout (code 75 track, decent radius curves, proper track plan.) This product isn't aimed at the train set market, so why use a train set layout? I'm sure exhibition layout owners would be more than happy for Hornby to film this on their layout if credit was given?

Went to Model Rail Scotland with my grandson - fill out a completion form at the Hornby stand and promptly forgot about it. To my surprise two week later received a box from Hornby containing the Sir Nigel Gresley limited edition collection. Just shows it is worth filling in these competition forms.

The Gresley Ltd gloss editions are the best ones to get. I got all four. I also recommend the NRM Ltd gloss editions of Mallard (Garter Blue) and Scotsman (BR Green).

That train pack looks fantastic, the locomotives are beautiful especially with their glossy paint finishes however I personally don't think I would spend £500 pounds for this pack. If Hornby were to sell these locos individually I would buy the locos

Nathaniel Hull I'm not sure if they have any in stock anymore but hattons are selling each loco separately as I wanted just the P2 and thanks to hattons I could .

Beautiful looking locomotives and good looking models. The £500 price tag is more than fair, I just do not have a spare £500 right now! Maybe Hornby should offer a finance plan LoL?

Trust me, that's all they do. I have the P2 from the Gresley Collection, and until I buy a new motor will never run. It has the noisiest cheapest motor imaginable (same motor used in Smokey Joe), and it's horrible. Especially considering how much they cost.

At the present exchange rate they are $173 each, which is not too bad from this side of the pond. How many of Nigel's locomotives I need on my layout is another matter. Tempting though...

Actually, they are $132.66 from Hattons, before shipping. I always use the DHL option. For the 4 locomotives it was an additional $26.53 for 2 day/tracked shipping. $557.19 in total.

I bought this set they are great looking models,but the P2 is fitted with the terrible, cheap tack 3 pole motor,Hornby do a 5 pole scew wound type motor which is a straight swop, i fitted mine has i did with the earlier super detail P2,it makes a great difference,but at the price Hornby should be fitting the 5 pole has standered it stems back to when the P2 was first out has a railroad model,but its a disgrace to put it in a premium model!
