hi there still have a R52 jinty loco, built in Margate,quality loco; gives off that lovely Triang smell.

Looks nice, let's see how pointlessly insane the pricing is Oh - £169.99. More insane than I expected. Rofl - guess again

Spot on.

You could literally buy the original version of this set for 1/3 the price. This is killing Hornby.

@thomasawl This is the equivalent of R52, available from 1956 to 1966. Using the Bank of England online inflation calculator, I find that a £170 set today should be £9.52 in 1963. If you fail to account for inflation, all prices look nutty. Once accounting for inflation, you will find Hornby is doing an excellent job of controlling costs

Great packaging and a nice set.

It's nice don't get me wrong, but really it's just a jinty and 2 railroad coaches, why no controller with the set? Anyhow, love your products hornby :)
@dakshanbalarameshКүн бұрын
I think it’s because the original set didn’t come with a controller as well?
@jackstrains4468Күн бұрын
@dakshanbalaramesh yeah, I agree, I just mean it's essentially a railroad train set with badly detailed models, doesn't even have a controller to use it if you don't have a layout, and costs quite a substantial amount too

I actually have an original set and the set came with just a battery box with a forward and backward switch. The dial controller I believe was an optional addition. But yeah, for a train set recreation a controller should have been included.

Nice set, but the Jinty needs an updated tooling
@AlfieGould-l1jКүн бұрын
That’s the point of the set, it’s the old tooling in an old set , basically their just trying to profit on crap

Nice Train Set but I already have the very same Loco & Carriages thanks 😉🚂🚂🚂

No number of Remembered train sets are going to save you. Either retool everything, or cut the prices down

Shouldn't it have a brake coach?

I mean no disrespect. But all your item are getting to expensive for nearly every unless you're in a very well paid job or you're rich or a millionaire or a multimillionaire. Before anyone say it this hobby has never been cheap your right, thank to company like Hornby,Bachmann, Accurascale, Rapido Trains act the second hand market ie Ebay has got stupidly prices because people on their think they can charge has much has the big boy or more the than the big boy and it pricing people out of the hobby, maybe if hornby, bachmann, Accurascale, Rapido trains ect etc started selling their older models at a lot cheaper prices this could stop the con artists on Ebay charging so much.

The set is nice. Everyone has got mixed feelings about it. However, there's something you still haven't looked into. All your Beatles train sets are stuck on the shelves, and are going nowhere. Your customers don't want them at all. Why? The answer is this: The Beatles are a Pop Group from the 1960s decade. We love listening to their music. I only bought one of your Beatles Closed Vans (as sold separately) to pay tribute to my Dad, who is no longer alive, for his birthday (7th September). Thus, aside from Sam buying one of the sets, it's rather annoying to your customers that the group's image has been very poorly printed on to the engine and Closed Vans. Your method of printing was once so much better than that. I'd rather stick to the Beatles DVD and CD collection I've got, to be honest, as would the other Beatles fans. On top of this, you plan to release a sequel Beatles train set next year. Don't bother, just cancel it. It's only good enough to be chucked on the scrapheap.

I adore Hornby products and I like the Beatles. But the Beatles train is not my cup of tea.

What in the waffling 🤣

Agree, I don't really know why they produced so many Beatles train sets - they're not prototypical, not special enough to be collectors items and not cheap enough to be basic starter sets. Hornby somehow managed to miss the mark on all counts with those.
