The NBA really needs to crack down on this blatant and egregious tanking - it's making the league look like a joke. A team should never be allowed to sit their best 4 to 6 players like the Nets and the Jazz did last night. They made all of these stupid excessive trade rules and regulations so that there would be "parity" in the league and then they allow that b.s .? Ridiculous.

And it's also cheating fans of those tanking teams who pay good money for tickets just to watch a bunch of 3rd string bench players play and get blown out by 20, 30 or even 60 points like the Nets did last night - that's a sure way to lose ticket sales.

@LN-Lifer Teams should be fined 100k per player rested if they rest any more than 2 of their top 5 players, and if they're claiming injuries, then there needs to be impartial NBA league doctors who confirm those injuries to make sure they're legitimate and if it turns out that any aren't, then the team should be fined 300k.

@@dmitryowens I'm with you. But.... How about instead of fines if it is determined they are resting healthy players they get punished in other ways? Draft punishment, lower cap, trade restrictions or whatever. Something that will hurt them so much more than pocket change from their billionaire pockets. Or how about forcing them to make refunds to fans who bought tix and giving them a smaller piece of the TV deal proceeds

@LN-Lifer Sure - any front office who is deliberately trying to lose games deserves all the punishment the league can levy. Every team should always play as hard as they can and try to win every game and let the chips fall where they may - otherwise it's not sports.

It's the nba front office. Their niche is talking about what happens behind the scenes, nba transactions, and rumors. They usually only talk about games that are notable (ie. The nets blowout) until it's the playoffs. They also repeatedly say they are the busiest during the offseason (draft and free agency).

Hearing "Jimmy is so mad today and the Suns can't trade for him" is getting real repetitive every freaking day. He aint getting traded. These guys said its unlikely themselves. Yet we talk about it like ESPN talking about the Lakers/Bron. Butler isn't relevant
