The sheet metal looks great, my only issue is it is pretending to sound like an old gasser instead of just embracing new tech

The Dodge Charger was a symbol of raw petrol horsepower. Take the monster petrol engine out of the equation and its just a sedan.

Get rid of the touch screens. If its unsafe to use my phone (and now illegal) then its not safe to use a touch screen. Manual nobs are much easier to use and can be done without looking at them.

Well first of all when you say Americans, we have different taste in cars than Europe. Second who is making that straight 6, if it is Fiat I don't want it. So until they put an American V8 or at least a V6 in it I don't want it. But I will also say that a majority of Americans can't afford this car, so what good is it. And no one will buy a used I phone. But the biggest thing about the new cars I don't want is having to pay extra forever for stuff, like the self-driving system in a Tesla, then you have the updates to the system and that mean the car company can shut down your car anytime if they want more money from you at the shop. So no I won't be buying anything new until this C stops.

I know its not a V8 but that I6 Hurricane HO is going to be pretty fun car I drove Ram 1500 with SO version of that engine and its a monster it has soo much torque. Fck the electric version though

How long do you think a super high compression turbo charged engine manufactured by dodge is actually going to last? 40,000 miles at most? I love the idea, I just don't think it will something that has any sort of long life.
@janemin3128
@janemin3128 Ай бұрын
@TheDatadrew we will see, BMWs turbo I6 last 200k. Ford v6 ecoboost is pretty reliable also,hopefully Dodge gets close to that. It just needs to be light and not a boat to perform well.

@rogerrussell9544 both BMW B58/S58 and Ford 3.5 ecoboost are aluminum blocks, only 2.7 in Ford is Iron I haven't heard about overheating Hurricane but anything is possible thats a fairly new engine and can potentially be reliable or the opposite time will tell.

@@janemin3128 Stellantis can't get anything right. Tavares and his push for the cheapest possible components have caused this. Thermostats were defective and due to the supplier some had to wait for replacement parts to become available. Head gaskets are another issue that has reared it's ugly head. How come you haven't heard of this? Do you work as a publicist for Stellantis perhaps?

@TheDatadrew
@TheDatadrew Ай бұрын
The anti-ev crowd just seems to understand the concept of an all electric car makes ZERO sense. The environmental cost to manufacture is ridiculous, the fires, range issues, charging availability, road wear, excessive brake dust/tire wear... etc. What make sense is the expansion and development of hybrids. I have been saying this for years. If they would have put the research into hybrids they did to EV's, we'd have cars that got 100+ mpg at this stage of the game. Hell, my 11 year old hybrid still gets 44 mpg... What did the CEO of Toyota say... something like he can make 80 hybrids to every one ev?

@@TheDatadrew You touch on every discredited talking point that the oil industry can muster....road wear and excessive brake dust 🤣my favorites....as a engineer do you really think that highways and roads are designed for cars and not large heavy trucks (one heavy overloaded dump truck during half load season will do more damage to a road than a million EV's.....BTW it is obvious you don't have a clue about driving an EV....with regenerative braking the brakes on an EV are rarely used and with careful use can last the life of the vehicle. Just where is this brake dust coming from? 😂

@@TheDatadrew Bro why do you lie and think people are going to believe your opinion? Just say you hate EVs because you like the vroom vroom sound and changing oil.
@TheDatadrew
@TheDatadrew Ай бұрын
@@KBergs I don't think I made mention of anything based on vroom sounds. I mentioned hybrids. And I am fully aware of regenerative braking systems. My 11 year old hybrid still has the original pads after 167k miles. I read a lot about EV's. Excessive "road wear" is not limited to only highways. This is any paved surface. We have parking structures here that ONLY allow Ev's to park on the ground floor, as they weigh twice as much as a standard vehicle, so they cause "road wear" as well as structural issues. No, I am not some luddite rube who thinks all things should have a massive V8, but I am also not foolish enough to think an EV fits the vast majority of people living in this country. Rather than being staunchly pro or con, maybe you should cast less stones and actually look at all sides of the issue. Does it make sense for a soccer mom to have an EV? Yup. Probably drives 20-30 miles a day... Does it make sense for me who drives 3,000 miles a month? Nope.. I have done the cost calculations for fuel vs electricity, and my 11 year old hybrid smokes the cost of any EV per mile, especially considering I would not be able to charge solely at home.
@allankoivu3263
@allankoivu3263 Ай бұрын
@@TheDatadrew Get over the nonsense weight issue any reasonable lawn care work crew has a vehicle that is much heavier than an EV and they are frequently parked on light duty pavement and horror of horrors on parking structures. As a Structural engineer I can guarantee that the reason for the limitations on parking EV's on the parking garage is either FUD or the parking garage is in such disrepair that it is in imminent collapse.

Let's be honest. Stellantis as a whole has been a sinking ship held up by Ram and Hellcat.. That car was doomed to be a failure the moment it was announced that it was an all electric and no longer had a big grumbly V8 under the hood. Their sales are down, quality is way down and the only thing they have still making them money is their trucks and Jeepers.. Unless they some how have a version of this thing in their back pocket with some real grunt and a slick name.. I feel like we'll see it with 0% interest adverts before the end of 2025..
