This is just a kids programme...but it makes me smile from ear to ear. If you haven't checked out this show before, then please do. You'll make me a lot happier knowing that such great writing/acting/comedy doesn't go unnoticed....even though it's "just for kids" :)

Agree. I had to listen to this, Charles Darwin and the Greek Thinkers a few times before I really appreciated how good they are. The exception is the RAF song, loved that the first time I heard it.

I did wonder at first if I'd created the pun in my head as I was the only one in the group of people that I was watching it with that laughed. But Larry's face totally gives it away. Pretty sure he wrote that one himself xD

Actually, back then, most English people pronounced "r"s the way Americans do today, so the Pilgrims' accents would've sounded more American than English. I don't think they stepped off the Mayflower talking like a bunch of New Yorkers, though.

I live in the city where the pilgrims left from Holland (Leiden). but the only memorial thing of it in the city is a plaque on the church. further was thanksgiving also a kind of the 3 October party from leiden (the party where we celebrate we were freed from the spanish in the 80 years war) they took the party with them and made it thanksgiving.

they're doing English Country Dancing, like Morris Men still do. This passed on to the Appalachian communities (have you seen 'Deliverance'). The Irish are not the only ones to dance that way - just that Americans picked up on it.
