excellent game, my old colleagues at Sony made this, the old studio Millenium become Sony Cambridge, was chuffed to bits when I started work there as an artist and discoverd my art director designed it and did all the art...great review as always !! the games a classic on the ST :] thanks again buddy

It does look really nice, especially when you see it move. The zombies have a really creative walk cycle! 😁 Glad you enjoyed the vid!

Good game, very fun and changeling, lots of humour, traps, deaths and creepy puzzles. Cool. I used to play it often.

Yeah, shame I never picked this one up back in the day. Would definitely have enjoyed it!

Looks amazing! Great graphics and concept despite the frustrating parts. When a ST games asks for sound or music, I always pick sound effects first time around so I can hear the feedback of the characters interaction with the environment. Great review as always. 😀

Thanks, glad you enjoyed! It was nice to get to play something solid! I think I have deserved that! 😁

Cool! I liked this! It’s just a pity save points weren’t invented by then. 😫

At least there is a password system. But have not idea how difficult the stages get 😅, so a save point system would be nice!

Cool video. I never got into this one back in the day, either, but it looks like fun.

Nice to find a solid unknown (to me) game! I needed that! 😁

So there you have your typical "have to remember every previous death" to progress game, plus some old school tricky puzzles like disappearing walls/floors. I would enjoy this game back then, but considering the great graphics and animations... I like this game even now, and will play at least for a while in Steem.
@gearsofgames3 ай бұрын
Yeah, typically for the time cheapo moments! 😁 But they did get the difficulty balance right. Well, maybe not that weird bit where you had to drop through the floor by the statue. Not sure how you were supposed to figure that out, except maybe by just using sheer desperation and random clicking!

hmm, a rather "nice" game, with a nod to these B-series of the 50'60s, and that does not take itself completely seriously; and if you have patience (and a good fingering;)) it could be a little forgotten nugget nowadays... Thank you for making us rediscover this "scary-game":D

Really loved this game back in the day. Had the cracked version where they had done a compact loader so even the load times where almost gone (I would have bought the game, but games like this just didn't make it to the shops around where I lived, the 8-bit games faired much better but the ST era died an early death. Piracy was a factor, but more of a factor was the lack of distribution in normal stores IME).

Games for the ST was pretty much hopeless to find in stores here, even in the late 80s. Even mailorder was getting tricky and I ordered games from Special Reserve in the UK in the 90s, to be able to get any commercial releases at all.
@goddessesstartrekonlinefle30613 ай бұрын
@@gearsofgames oh yeah! I remember special reserve :D I didn't do mail order until later in life, I recall though I got my first box of 100 disks through mailorder and was so excited when they arrived.

Always really liked this game. It's better with a trainer IMHO - because it has 8-bit cheap death syndrome. But graphically, it's beautiful. I love the use of the subtle palette, the animations are excellent and the sampled effects top it all off nicely. Gameplay is kinda old-school (even for the time!), very 8-bit, but with nice variety at least. Those one-touch kills though? Damn!

Yeah, the graphics really grew on me, once I had seen them move! Just a shame about the cheapo moments!

Quite true! Always nice to find a solid ST platformer, that's not endlessly repetitive and dull.

Seems frustrating. Lots of castlevania vibes . My only objection ist all those pastels. Interesting game, never played it before
@gearsofgames3 ай бұрын
It's actually not that bad, sure there are some pretty typically cheap moments. But could have been far worse! 😅 I also felt that the visuals were a bit too pastely, but when I actually got to see it in action, I became more fond of them.

Very cool game and presentation! The only thing that bothers me is the camera. Too often you need to take a leap of faith and hope there's not a rat or something else below.
@gearsofgames3 ай бұрын
Yeah, the game likes it's cheap moments and "moon-logic" puzzles 😁
@SuperJim3 ай бұрын
Looks nice that one, but I can't stand obtuse hidden floors / walls that are part of the main path and not secrets. Really don't need to try every inch to progress
@gearsofgames3 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's the biggest problem with this one.
@Albert_Wesker_19693 ай бұрын
Definitely not even close to the OG RE games but given the time period and the limitations of that period it's a decent entry into the horror genre games. It could have been better had it been an RPG like Legend of Zelda instead of a side scrolling game.
@gearsofgames3 ай бұрын
Still nice to see that there's a fair amount of items to find and not just the usual endless platforming 😁
