i love the stories about the trees. Trees do have a spirit, an energy about them. Doesn’t surprise me that both stories are written by women. one of my favorite stories ever is “The Tree’s Wife”. quite a lovely tale. each story is beautifully read. thank both of you so much. :) 🍃🍂🌳🌷🌱

Thanks for the long upload, just right to while away the afternoon in lockdown. I hope I enjoy this as much as the Clark Ashton Smith stories. Thank you for your tireless work. Love the small touch of class such as the spools on the tape cassette moving as if being played, well done sir.

These stories are awesome. Thank you so much, Ian! You are a master at your craft. My only problem is I run out of time each day and need to step listening to go to bed. Each of these narrations is a masterpiece. Your own works are masterful as well! Thanks for all you do!

Hmmm interesting... In the first story, "the Sunken Lands", a character mentions a barren land on the borders of Afghanistan where nothing lives, because no creature can escape the ants the size of rats that run at incredible speed and ferociously devour everything . His companions scoff, but keep an extra wary eye out after that. I believe they are talking about camel spiders! Which makes you think about how freakin' creepy camel spiders are. 🕷

Camel spiders. The only thing in the Middle East that made NATO soldiers run away screaming. I ain't kidding, one guy said he woke up to find one on top of his sleeping bag.

I concur, camel spiders. And they are indeed scary as hell. Lol

depending on when it was written that first story has got to be at least partly the origin of The Predator
