Thanks for watching - glad to hear you enjoyed! Only one more week to wait until episode 2...! As we've mentioned in a previous comment, our selection process really does span a vast number of factors - we have a really hard time picking from all the fabulous applicants we receive. However, we don't think Jade's previous TV experience (short lived, may we add!) really makes her exempt from being an 'everyday equestrian' and super fun contestant. She, and the awesome Eddie, earned their places on the show for a wide variety of reasons.

Great the show is back but the way h and c go out of their way to choose the cast based on skin colour age and gender is disgusting. Every year : 2 blokes a person of colour and an older person! Should be chosen on the best audition not gender and skin colour !!!!

Thanks for your comment - sorry to hear that you feel our selection process is "forced". However, to clarify, we have a huge range of selection criteria to choose from including (but not limited to!); horse/rider combination, geographic region, horse/pony breed, horse/pony age, discipline experience, competition background etc. That's without the fun of looking at a blend of personalities, audition submissions and any interesting history or background (on either horse or rider side). We certainly want to promote diversity and inclusion in our programmes - it is really important that we do. BUT, that is certainly not our only consideration when selecting our contestants for a show like this.

@ 🙄 I’m sure next year you will do the exact same thing and just choose 2 male riders, one older person and one younger person and a person of colour as you’ve done every single year. . Also I feel like jade was only chosen as she’s been on love island and on itv shows etc. just bringing more fame. We want real equestrians . .
