People with disabilities tend to get along better with horses because they're significantly more perceptive to nonverbal communication and can learn "horse language" a lot quicker than an able bodied person can.

You put that into words better than I could have. I have autism and PTSD and have always found I'm great with animal communication and often find neurotypical people to miss so many conversations with animals. It's a near magical language and so many people don't even notice how often animals talk to us, or what they have to say.

Tawney and all those that work so hard at hphs I am so sorry those people that adopted samlsun are being so disgusting. And you can tell by watching the video of them doing their adoption and the pictures they put up but what they're saying is not true. I'm so sorry people have to be that way when you work so hard for these animals. I believe they came there to get horses for no fee. And just a bag of feed. As I told them on their Facebook if they were so worried about animals being fed and care for maybe they should have donated something more than that bag of feed. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do. I wish there that you could get those two animals back and safe at your shelter.

Why on earth are they also being so cheap? “He was $450 and I couldn’t afford it at the time, bills come first.” I don’t blame Tawnee, nor HPHS, they’re not seeing the budget adopters have. But if you can’t afford a horse when you see him the first time, why do you think you can afford them later? What if that horse colic’s or has a vet emergency? Are you just going to tell the horse to wait while you pay the bills and let him suffer? These owners tick me off more than anyone else.
