First of all AWESOME JOB AS ALWAYS! I went for a ride yesterday, and my biggest fears became true. My horse bucked with me, and when I say buck it was as if I was riding a bronc. I manage to stay on and rode her out for two hours with someone that came along with me. that ride was the most pleasant, she would jump over small creeks, get buddy sour something I've never experienced with her. I have noticed the past few times we rode out on the trail it's been nerve wracking. I keep telling myself just have fun, and fake it til I make it. We've been doing tremendous groundwork that she responds to really well, everything I could ask for working on the ground. Moving hindquarters, front, flexing on both sides, list goes and on and on. Once in the saddle it's a different story, I ruled out all the other issues. She just got her teeth done recently, chiropractors done. I'm at the end of my ropes and she's just too much horse I can handle so I decided to possibly sell her, and the buyer is suppose to let me know in upcoming days. I'm a little bummed but it's the best for both of us, but we won't know for sure until the day comes. We're just not clicking. Thank you for giving me the encouragement through your videos and so forth, I'm just glad I was able to hang in there until it was all over. I just need a horse I can enjoy, I've been riding since I was 6, and like to see myself as an intermediate rider doing all kind of horse things. In some ways I feel like I failed, and sometimes I feel this is the rightful decision. If she does sell she'll be going to a well rounded horse trainer, someone is by far better than me, and I thought I was good lol.

Hi there! Thank you for your comment! Sorry to hear about what happened and what's been happening with your mare. You have to be a pretty good rider to stay on when a horse tries to buck you off so well done! It does sound like you've come to the conclusion she's not the right fit for you. That's definitely not easy but it's better to find a horse that matches your energy and that you can trust fully. I'm a very energetic rider so I don't like riding lazy horses 🙃 It sounds like this mare could use a fresh start in life and she may be bored of the training routines. Can't say for sure without seeing you work with her. If you sell her or if you don't I wish you all the best with your horses!

@@HorsePerfect Thank you for your quick response, I've always admire your work ethic. I did a lot of thinking over the weekend, and decided to keep my mare because she does everything else so well. She's already so far ahead of some other horses that are currently at our place. I just need to refocus, stay calm and keep my composure and move forward. Thank you for posting your content and showing us support as well especially when you comment.

Excellent progress, he seems to trust you a lot more. Judging by the amount of sweat on the horse, and how the soil in the center looked well tilled. I'm guessing you exercised him a lot more than this video showed. Did you deliberately tire him out, to make him more calm before you started mounting him?

Thank you! Yes I almost always have to cut videos in order to keep them short and watchable. I usually only show the most exciting parts of an hour long session. It is beneficial if a horse is tired before the exercise so what I usually do is pick something to teach the horse that normally requires a lot of energy before I do this. Sometimes they learn it quicker though and so it's ok if they're less tired. In this case he did get more tired because he took forever to learn what I was asking of him haha

You have such a special way with horses and I'm jealous! Why do you start by sliding backwards off his butt? Ive never seen that before.

If the horse hasn’t been ridden before it might try to run away and if it does u would be much safer sliding from the back then, well anything else really,he might try to run away while u get off too so getting off from the back is much better
