if i am hungry, my major concern is food and water forget how the water is filtered or the impact on environment. I might not be alive tomorrow

So you're okay with removing all fossil fuel subsidies then? You know what that would make a gallon of gasoline at the pump?

This may be a bit tangential, but I'm not sure I like the video title, in part because it bugs me comparing a unit of power (horsepower) to a unit of energy (kilowatt-hour). I know it's supposed to be gas vs. electric vehicles, but still. Interesting to learn about the remote electric windmills preceding the rural electrification act, though! It'd be interesting to see a deep dive into that.

Typically the use of windmills on farms in the American plains and prairie were used to pump water, not generate electricity.

CO2 + H20 é o alimento das plantas. CO2 é o gás da vida.

"Clean Energy" is the dirtiest energy ever. It is clean to you because you don't see all the massive "dirty" that was done to get that little energy. The mining to get the lithium for your battery is a very dirty and very massively wasteful process. Why the lithium battery in your EV is the most expensive part of your car because it super crazy massive waste to get that lithium. That lithium is also cannot be recycle. CO2 can be recycled. Plants recycle CO2 all the time. More CO2 is good for the plants. More plants means the CO2 will get reduce since the plants take it in to make food. The cycle start all over... aka recycle = renewable. Lithium battery is not renewable. Oil is not very clean because you see it's raw form. And from petroleum you can go directly to heat if you want heat. If you want electricity the gas generator can generate the energy directly, doesn't need that "lithium" to store it. When it's directly, it's always more efficient. When you charge the battery, there is energy lost too. Again "Clean Energy" is the dirtiest energy. Without government forcing us to pay for this con called "clean energy", it wouldn't survive in the free market because it's the worst form of energy. The free market is the best at finding the most efficient cheap best energy. "Best" can come in many form. The free market decide what is best to fit it's need for the job, that includes battery. Battery is great in places that cannot have emission like in cave or long tunnel or submarine. But since many of us do not live in caves or tunnel or submarine, battery isn't as popular in the free market.

I think the biggest factor in EV adoption is the stigma. EVs are perceived as being ostentatiously expensive, attention grabbing, and made only for effete liberals. In other words, people are avoiding them for irrational reasons. I think if marketing people can sell the truth that the electric car is a practical and economically sound option for the average person, they would be a lot more prevalent.

Dudes, I don't want government subsidies or interference, but there are multiple misrepresentations here about EV's in particular. Criticize real problems with EV and renewable energy, not stupid talking points. For example. Charging an EV at home is extremely convenient, no trips to the gas station. No the other hand, charging on long trips is inconvenient as you said. Details matter.

I agree with you on the government interference. But at the moment I don't agree with you on the "extremely convenient" to charge the EV at home. To me charging the EV at home is like filling a few drops of gasoline every time you come home, imo that is inconvenient because you have to do it every single night. Why cars have a 16gal gas tank instead of just say 3 gallon tank. So you don't have to fill it every single night. A 5 min to fill the 16gal tank is much faster (aka convenient) than an all night charging. I don't know how many times EV people drive off forgetting to unplug their car. I have seen people drove off with the gas line still attach to their gas tank. Why gas station have the emergency shutoff, because of these forgetful idiots just drive off with the hose still attached to their car. It will be more convenient when they make a charging station like for the Roomba. Just drive your car into the charging station and it connects and charge without you having to do anything. It'll disconnect when you drive away, also without you having to do anything. That would be great. Also don't forget every time you charge your battery, you kill the battery a tiny bit. Agree, details matter.

Your overall cost of ownership of an electric vehicle is less than a gas car. This is not up for debate. Look at the hundreds of people on KZbin that walked you through their personal calculations.

The title is comparing horsepower (power) to kilowatt hours (energy) which is non sensible. The only significant fuel saving renewable energy today is hydropower. Battery installations required for wind turbine and solar voltaic generated electricity to provide dispatchable electricity are few making the bulk of such erratic sources of electricity require more expensive fuel to support than making all the electricity with more economically fuel efficient means.
