I could paint this scene with absolute realism. BUT , not in 27 minutes and 15 seconds ! Annnnd while intertaining us so richly. He was the master. I am so sad that he is gone. Bob Ross also, his student. I hope they are painting for God now.. Bob's creatures must miss him terribly.

Mr Bill . What do you do with the extra paint on the pallet? If you store it instead of throwing it out and use it again how do you recommend keeping the left over paint? Thanks for all the inspiration.

My Dad was a portrait artist and he would leave his paint on the palette and it gets a flexible crust on it after a couple of days. He'd peel the crust off and dip into the inside of the pile and keep on painting. It's not a good practice for this technique though. I've tried that and eventually you get blobs of "crust" in your brush and it winds up on the canvas. This technique requires a lot more paint than a fine art portrait. :) My advice would be to try not to squeeze more on the palette than is necessary for the painting you're doing or session time. I paint on disposable palette paper and just rip off the top sheet when I'm done and throw it in the trash. Walah! You instantly have a clean painting palette to start your next painting session!

Probably a red sable or filbert brush. It's easy to pick one up at your local art supply store.
