Ever wonder what your hospital L&D room will look like? What will you find inside?
I'm here today to talk you through all of the standard components, equipment and set clear expectations for what you will see in your labor & delivery room (USA - although many other places will be similar). Many times, going to or delivering in the hospital can maybe feel scary or uncomfortable - particularly bc it is a hospital and there are so many tools, equipment, and unknown objects in the room! No stress! I'm going to talk you through everything from the fetal monitoring to the infamous labor bed (new video on that coming ps), the baby warmer/bed, and then stay tuned, because I'm coming back to share with you how to make your hospital room feel a bit less hospitality and more zen for your labor & birth. * Also, please ignore the terrible hospital lighting - good for your labor, not so good for this ;)
Go to www.bundlebirth.com to learn more about how you, from anywhere in the world, can take a childbirth class, coping with labor class, be coached and supported by me through your pregnancy so you can have a confident, happy birth-day!

I am 30 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. The anxiety about L&D never goes away with each consecutive birth, likely especially because my first birth was very traumatic. So thank you for taking the time to create these videos. One can be physically and materially prepared, but this is the one source that helps relieve some of the anxiety and helps me to mentally prepare.

I just wanted to say I had my baby boy eight days ago and your videos were so helpful throughout the duration of my pregnancy. I will admit that although I tried to use some of your breathing techniques, I did end up being a screamer once I got to transition. 😭🤣🤣

I was pretty tired so he might have but I don't remember my son ever going to a warmer. All his vitals were taken using mommy as a baby bed haha. Our nurse took him to get a weight but that was quick and not until at least an hr after birth. Myself or my hubby had him in our arms until he got to his bassinet in post partum. I loved it. I chose a baby friendly hospital knowing he'd be with us more.

Yeah I had a vbac after being induced in April. I brought lollipops, scents, mood lighting, snacks, pictures of my first baby and of course all of my notes and lists for a successful vbac. I loved being in a hospital, being taken care of by super nice nurses and doctors, left alone lol when not in active labor, whatever. I nearly bled (sp?) to death after baby came out, so it was essential I was there. Baby #1 had fluid in lungs, so again, glad I was at the hospital. I had too many family members for first birth, which is one of the reasons why I didn't progress well and ended up with c section. I say that in case you wanted more, but COVID is restricting, think of it as a good thing maybe?:) Good luck with it!!!

Could you go in depth on preeclampsia and postpartum preeclampsia. I just had my little guy 11/21/20. I was induced, labor and delivery went beautifully only 8 hours of active labor and 50 minutes of pushing, but we ended up stuck in the hospital for 4 days and than a trip to the ER a couple days after we got home for high blood pressure. Is this something I’m going to have an issue with the next baby? Is there a way to prevent it? Thank you!

Do most labour and delivery rooms have no windows? Where I’m from where you get admitted/checked, the labour/delivery rooms and where you stay(some private, some shared) after baby, have windows and now some hospitals allow you to labour/deliver and stay in the same private room❤️and all these have windows. So I do love the lighting idea(from your other video) for at night, but during the day it can’t be darkened to extreme...thanks for the room tour.

From what I understand, windows let in dust, so when the environment needs to be sterile, like an operating room or a birthing room, it’s easier to avoid windows.

They are scaring you. I was told my baby was big by the tech, then the ultrasound dr. My OB reassured me it was ok. My baby was measuring 3.5 when the average was 3.0. Those are estimates. They’ll tell you to expect a big baby and in many instances you have a baby between 6-7lbs. Not very big
