Hi lovely! :) glad to hear you like the videos! and what I would recommend is going on the website of a hospital that is near you, going through the staff page, identifying doctors who you want to shadow and them emailing them and explaining your situation and how you want to do work experience! Also, some hospital offer special work experience programmes, which will again be on their site. As for the interview, no not really, if they send you a work experience form to fill in, all you have to do is write a few lines about why you want to do work experience and that's pretty much it! Hi Atousa! I am starting sixth form next year and I'm really interested in having a career in biomedical sciences. I know university places are very competitive and hard to get into so I'd like to do some work experience that would kind of make the process easier and give me something to talk about on my UCAS personal statement. Could you please suggest where I could go and how I would go about getting the work experience?

Hi lovely! aw I know how you feel, I've definitely been there! I am going to make a video about this because quite a few people have been asking me! but in the meantime to answer your question, I would suggest finding a hospital near you, and either emailing or phoning them and asking if you can shadow the biomedical scientists who work there because you can chat to them about their job and get a good idea of exactly what they do! I would also recommend showing interest in science outside of academia, so for example starting your own science blog, or setting up a 'medical society' in your school so people who want to study biomed can get together and share information etc! How much work experience do you think we need for Medicine? Also, how are you going to be talking about your work experience in your personal statement and at an interview? So many questions haha 😂

That's a good question haha I'm not 100% sure, some universities want more than others but honestly it's best to get as much as you can for your own good as well as for the personal statement! and it's fine! ask away haha, I will have videos closer to the time talking about personal statements and all of that jazzz so you should see those soon :)
