Heyy Sonya, why is Sunday one of the saddest days in the Jewish calendar🤔
@SonyasPrep
@SonyasPrep Жыл бұрын
@@fionamcintosh4814 it is the major day of communal mourning in the Jewish calendar. Although a large number of disasters are said to have befallen the Jews on this day, the major commemoration is of the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem in 586 B.C.E. and 70 C.E., respectively. Central to the observance of this day is fasting.

@@SonyasPrep to fast on the first day of the week( Sunday) after Sabbath, doesn't seem like anything sad😔🤔 but with regards to the destruction of the temple isnt there a prophecy about this in the book of Daniel? Just wondering 🙂🙏🏿💝

As usual Ms. Sonya you and the Fam knocked it out of the park!!!! When I watch your videos I wonder if those you invite realize how lucky they are! If I was to get invited I'd fast for at least 2 days so I could have extra room in my tummy to enjoy all the tasty dishes you prepare! At my BBQ parties, hamburgers,hotdogs and Brisket are on the grill and bbq beans, potato salad etc, etc. But not you Ms. Sonya ! You lay out a complete buffet with home made salad dressings! The food looked amazing and so does your home! Mr. Prep and the kids did a wonderful job in helping too! I requested a BBQ video and you delivered! BOY DID YOU DELIVER! I want to try that rice dish Mr. Prep cooked it looked super delicious. God bless your home and may his peace and love reign in the hearts of those who live there and those who visit. Sonja, I honestly don't know how you're still standing after all of the prepping and cooking - I would be dead on my feet!! Bless your sweet mother for helping you - but isn't that what mother's are for? I'm one of them! Ha Ha Ha Ha But since I'm so much older I can't do it all anymore - when I was younger I always had parties in my house with both sides of the family - husband's and mine - but they were so much fun and, yes, the preperation took me forever - but I enjoyed every minute of it! I love all of your videos, my dear, so thank you very much!!

This was beautiful. I like how both your dear mother and husband were featured. Your food looked amazing and I learned a lot from this video. Your sausage rolls (you had another name for them) looked fabulous as did the pizzas. Let’s face it, it all looked just wonderful. Although not Jewish, I grew up in a Jewish neighbourhood and attended many, many kosher breakfasts, lunches, dinners, weddings and bar mitzvahs. The utterly delicious kosher food was basically Northern European so I am happy to see your food which looks multi ethnic. Well done. I hope your family and guests enjoyed the sumptuous nosh. So yeah, it's not surprising there are many places around the world where they make a dish with rice/meat/onions/carrots 😉

I want to thank you for introducing me to Jamie Geller spices. I’m not Jewish, so the (delicious!) recipes you share are brand new to my family and having spice blends are very helpful to me. The Hawajj for Coffee especially has been a huge hit in my home. Thanks again and Blessings to you!!

I also have the Hawaijj for coffee but not sure how to use it. DO you just sprinkle some on top of your prepared coffee?

You remind of one of my cousins. My cousin whenever she has a big family get together, has recipe print outs posted on her cabinet doors in the kitchen. Whoever comes early can help the make any recipes. Going to send you an email in a few days.

Hi, I brown off the onions first before adding to ground beef. I chop them finely, fry off, let it cool before adding to meat.

Everything is gorgeous. I started cooking when I was married. Grew up with a Europian mother who told n e that I will learn when I got married. I am doing very well bh. After 48 years. Though the beginning was challenging. But my husband was very patient.

That's so sweet. My grandma always tells me that she didn't know how to cook a thing until she got married and her husband would be so patient and loving, never complaining when the food would come out questionable.... now she is the 1 we turn to for all our traditional recipes

Great video! To answer your question, my Mum baked with me from a young age. We didn't make a lot of mess because she supervised and made sure that I didn't cover myself and the kitchen in flour. I'm pleased she did, as it helped a lot in many ways - confidence, learning to cook, mathematics etc :)

Your dishes are amazing. You asked for a burger recipe, here is mine. I use ground sirloin for less shrinkage. Unfortunately less fat means less flavor. I call these burgers monster burgers because of the large size we make them. To the beef I add minced onion, minced cherry tomatoes, garlic powder, Montreal seasoning , Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, ketchup, and egg to hold it all together. After grilling I toast the buns. We really enjoy them. I’m not Jewish but really enjoy your videos, I’m a new subscriber. Shalom and God bless.
