Hello Racevice S&G....I've seen temp probs anchored in potatoes and even corks. Haven't seen a temp prob in a wad of tin foil. Interesting. BTW, I agree with the squeezing the ribs together....makes them seem meatier and more pronounced for carving after the cook. Burrr, BBQ'n rain, shine or....snow!. Great video, liked.and subscribed.

Glad I came across this excellent video. Would the ribs cook faster if the slab was cut into individual ribs before placing them on the grill instead of placing the entire slab on the grill? I noticed that when the slab was on the grill, the same side was facing down and I noticed the slab was not turned over unless I missed something. Was this by design?

Thank you for checking out the video! I appreciate it. The ribs would definitely cook faster if they’d were cut individually. The good part of cooking the ribs whole is there’s less chance of drying the ribs out. I am going to work on a video soon doing individual ribs on the Weber Kettle. I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time now. And you’re correct, I kept the ribs with the meat side up the whole cook. I do that to keep them looking pretty. Really the only reason.

@@RaceviceSmokehouse Thank you for your response and clear answer to my question! I've been afraid of ruining a rib slab, but this video gives me hope of someday grilling my own babybacks!

This is the best video I've seen on making ribs in a kettle grill - simple, no fuss. Question though, do you need to add more coal during the cook, or is what you initially added enough for the whole cook? Cheers and greetings from Australia.

@RaceviceSmokehouse 11 ай бұрын
Cheers!! I appreciate the kind words!! As far as adding coal, sometimes I have to and sometimes I do not. All depends on how it’s going. If I do add more, it’s only a few pieces just to make sure it doesn’t get too hot and to also limit any waste.

Great cook! Just frustrated with all these off the shelf $10 rubs that I don't have access to. Just mention what is in them and we can make them at home. Thanks

You can use the Weber Charcoal baskets too. And if you don’t have those, don’t use anything! Just set the coals on the back wall and keep the ribs on the opposite side. Main thing is to keep the heat up around 375F and not to have the meat directly over the coals, indirect heat.
